1. He called him a phony
He has no respect for Schultz. And neither does Randi cause Schultz accepted a lump of money (from the DLC, I believe) that she turned down.

5. I tend to agree
A few weeks ago, Schultz said, "I think Bush deserves credit for stopping some terrorist acts in the US." I was floored when I heard him say that, and I posted the quote on here at the time. You should have seen the Schultz apologists come flying out of the DU woodwork!

There's something about the way Schultz does his show that just screams "phony!"

14. I've been hammered for criticizing "Big Ed", too.
Ed Schultz has created an image of himself as a huntin' , meat-eatin' SUV'drivin', fishin' spots typaguy who chomps on cigars.

He spends probably half the time on his radio show cultivating that image. Why? I have no idea. It's like he's apologizing for being a Dem, and he's trying to be balanced? I have no idea.

It just smacks of phoniness to me.

And don't forget, Big Ed was a Republican talk show host for many years. It shows.:smoke:

2. From what I heard, sure doesn't sound like it
He blasted Edd for what Edd said about Murtha. Blasted him big time. No love lost there

4. Nope
He doesn't like Ed either. And yes with Randi. Good for her for not taking money.

3. The only issue is that, as far as I can tell, Ed *is* a fake.
He was a conservative talk host until it became clear that market was saturated.

11. That's what is weird
I've tried listening to him once (and once when he interviewed John Kerry) and felt very weird listening to him. And yes he does sound too much like Rush.

22. Yes... he really does "sound" like RUsh....
I tried to listen early on because our affiliate sticks him on after Franken. But, at work, I surely didn't want anyone casually walking by my office, thinking that I was listening to Limbaugh!

Ed believes himself to be the "moderate" answer for DEMS and he is now on Armed FOrces radio so I'm sure he's convinced he can't criticize too much. But, I agree, this pisses me off and makes me think he may just be a big fake.

9. Yep
And apparently from what I've heard his wife supposivley is a liberal and "showed him the light." What I don't get is he claims to support Cindy Sheehan and went to Camp Casey but than turns around and bashes Murtha when they are saying the SAME THINGS. Why?

20. He actually supports Murtha's stance on Iraq
He was criticizing Murtha's statement that he wouldn't join today's military.

8. Ed Schultz is much of a Democrat as Marshall Wittman (of the DLC)
You don't pander to right wing hatred all your life and then suddenly convert like Saul on the Freeway to Damascus. Unless Jesus went to work for the DLC, and it would be a blizzard in Hell before that ever happenned.

Eddy's on Jones network and Mike's on AAR. I like them both! Mike is a friend. Ed's doing a decent job. Whatever.

12. I don't entirely dislike Ed Schultz, but the Murtha stuff...
...really made me angry with him.

He totally mischaracterized Murtha's comments. I mean, Murtha basically said that if a person chose to not join at this time they would be justified in that. What? Like Murtha should lie? Like he should say "Yeah! Join up! It's the right thing to do!" to someone who is thinking maybe now is not a good time to pursue a military career because he might be asked to do something that conflicts with his morality?

I have to agree with Murtha. If someone is having doubts about pursuing a military enlistment because they disapprove of the current state of affairs, then it would be reprehensible to encourage that person to join up just to keep recruitment number high.

That's immoral and Ed is dead wrong.

13. Ed Schultz is going after the guy in the
middle. He'll never diss the chimp as a person, and his idea of a Dem to interview is Daschle. If he convinces fence-sitters to vote Democratic, then he serves a worthwhile purpose. But give me Malloy, anyday. He once read on air and uncensored an e-mail I had sent him calling * "the dumbass chimp." Malloy is preaching to the choir, but damn he knows how to deliver a potent sermon.

Malloy is the real deal.

There's nothing inherently wrong with either.
