Problem with PayPal Account
I have gotten 3 e-mails recently telling me I have added 3 e-mail addresses to my PayPal account. “If you don’t agree with this email and if you need assistance with your account, click here and process your login.”

I seem to be able to login okay but I thought I had dropped that account years ago. There was something like $5.08 in it at my last accounting. What bothers me is the amount of personal information they want from me in order to get any assistance from them.

Is this a scam?????

5. What's the URL of the login link?
'Cause if it it doesn't lead to the paypal.com domain, I'd be worried.

8. Don't ever click on the links they supply!
Alway, ALWAYS go to the website yourself by opening a new browser window and typing in the URL (www.paypal.com) yourself!

If you move your mouse over the link inside of the email, you might notice that it doesn't actually go to Paypal's website (although it might look similar).

NEVER click on such a link in an email.

9. It *IS* a scam -- do not click on the link -- this is "phishing"...
Phishing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In computing, phishing is a form of criminal activity using social engineering techniques, characterized by attempts to fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy person or business in an apparently official electronic communication, such as an email or an instant message. The term phishing arises from the use of increasingly sophisticated lures to "fish" for users' financial information and passwords.

With the growing number of reported phishing incidents, additional methods of protection are needed. Attempts include legislation, user training, and technical measures.

10. Possible Trojan Horse
I recommend you immediately scan for viruses. Clicking the link may have planted a Trojan Horse onto your system.

12. Never reply to an email that asks you to login.
Simple as that.

Also, get a Mac to avoid the spyware that often comes with these messages.

14. Absolutly Do Not Respond
You will be lead to a page that looks just Like the Pay Pal login page and when you log into it you've just given away the farm.

If you think there is any activity in your Pay Pal account go to www.paypal.com - type it in yourself - and then log in and check your account's history and profile. If there have been any unauthorized changes contact Pay Pal's help desk immediately.

15. I, also get these all the time! I have a Paypall acount....I've sent
all the ones I've received to Paypal.

The most important thing NOT to do is to click on THEIR URL! I always type paypal.com into my computer and sent the emails to them.
