Opposition to the war "never strong to begin with?"

He's clearly delusional. I'd stay as far away from him as possible. I don't think a restraining order would be unreasonable if he knows where you live.

How come both BUSH's own weapons inspectors said NO WMD in Iraq since 1992?

And I'd tell him he really needs to rush that "wmd in Iraq proof" to BUSH asap!

Rightwingnuts; stupidest MFers ever.

5. So, uh, where are the WMDs?
Anyone can make a tape boasting about having WMDs. Big deal. I'm about to make a tape boasting about the vials of VX and Sarin that I keep in my refrigerator next to the bottles of French wine. HA! "Programs," my eye. Give me something real instead of all this tape hooey.

Now there is this Iraqi general who says that he saw WMDs and he's sure they've been hidden in Syria, but once again, let's see it. Absence of evidence is evidence of absence, no matter what the fundies would have you believe.

24. The Iraqi "general" is an aide to "Iraq can launch WMD in 15 mins" Allawi
Edited on Thu Mar-23-06 01:11 AM by LynnTheDem
and he did NOT see any "wmds"; he was TOLD by "some Iraqis" that they "knew people" who had loaded "wmds" onto 2 airplanes & flown them to Syria. Unseen by US satts who could read vehile license plates.

It's BULLSHIT.

1. Allawi & Cabal are proven liars.

2. The "general" was "told", 3rd hand.

3. Even bush doesn't use this liar's bullshit crap.

4. Powell and Rice have both said bullshit.

5. Syria and Iraq were NOT ALLIES; Syria would not have put their nation at risk for their ENEMY Hussein.

6. BUSH admitted no WMD in Iraq...BOTH of BUSH'S own handpicked weapons inspectors said NO WMD since 1992...SECRET PAPERS the US military seized show NO WMD since 1992...SECRET TAPES show NO WMD since 1992...

7. NO WMD SINCE 1992. FACT. Rightwingnuts need to GET OVER IT.

them :sarcasm: and it's a darn good thing we gave him ample time to do that by warning him we were going to invade if he didn't admit to having WMDs.

6. TOOOOO Easy to smack this crap down....
Bill Tierney somehow obtained these tapes (missing from an FBI office). Here's a bit on Bill Tierney:
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Bill_Tierney

"Among them was Bill Tierney, a member of the last U.N. weapons inspection team in Iraq. He was there in 1997 and 1998 and said Saddam probably has a small atomic bomb.

"'The Iraqis still have weapons of mass destruction,' said Tierney, who lives in the Tampa Bay area. 'They have tons of chemical weapons. I'm not sure how much biological weapons are there, but I think he has nukes that can go.'

...

Bill Tierney has been among the demonstrators standing vigil outsite Terri Schiavo's hospice in St. Petersburg, Florida. On March 28, 2005, the New York Times reported Tierney as saying, "No, we're not going to go home ... Terri is not dead until she's dead . . ." Tierney "cried as he talked about watching the Schiavo spectacle on television and feeling the utter need to be at the hospice."

http://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2003/02/14.html

Tierney's methods of ascertaining this location were rather unconventional. "I would ask God and just get a sense if something was valid or not, and then know if I needed to pursue it," he said. His assessments through prayer were then confirmed to him by a friend's clairvoyant dream, where he was able to find the location on a map. "Everything she said lined up. This place meets the criteria,"Tierney said of a power generator plant near the Tigris River that he believes is actually a cover for a secret uranium facility.

Cuckoo! Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

More on the tapes:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11299205/site/newsweek

The tapes were taken without permission from an FBI-run translation center, officials say, and are years old. Two government officials, requesting anonymity because of the sensitive subject, say the tapes in no way prove that WMD stockpiles or programs existed at the time of the U.S. invasion or were moved to another country before U.S. troops arrived

Another link:
http://www.newshounds.us/2006/02/13/fox_news_alert_there_might_just_possibly_be_undiscovered_wmds_in_iraq.php

These tapes were going to be a key presentation at some Intelligence Summit

And look who's speaking at the "Intelligence" Summit:
http://www.intelligencesummit.org/speakers/

Ledeen and Perle.

From ABC News:
http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/Investigation/story?id=1616996

One of the most dramatic moments on the 12 hours of tape comes when Saddam predicts —during a meeting in the mid 1990s — a terrorist attack on the United States. "Terrorism is coming. I told the Americans a long time before August 2nd and told the British as well & that in the future there will be terrorism with weapons of mass destruction." Saddam goes on to say such attacks would be difficult to stop. "In the future, what would prevent a booby trapped car causing a nuclear explosion in Washington or a germ or a chemical one?" But he adds that Iraq would never do such a thing. "This is coming, this story is coming but not from Iraq."

I dont see any proof. I see some talk about some tapes that I havnt heard that were taken at an undisclosed time in conversations with a Dictator who may very well have been lied to by his own people out of fear.

The facts are that Scott Ridders UN team disarmed him in the 90s and Hans Blix's team found nothing in 2003.

FACT FACT FACT.

15. Point at the idiot and laugh at him
Cite the things everyone has stated on this thread, then make sure to ask him if he went to school at Mad Magazine University. Point out that only someone who is stupid and lazy would think that this constitutes proof of a WMD program, so he must be stupid and lazy. Laugh at him publically and loudly. Call him an embarrassment and a genetic flub.

Seriously. These idiots STILL are trying everything in their power to prove that Iraq had WMDs and was a threat to us, regardless of how many times it has been disproven. Arguing won't work with them. They have to be humiliated.

First off that would be largely thanks to us since we sold him the shit. Secondly North Korea just threatened to strike the US if we don't start cooperating with them the way we have with India.....When the hell did Saddam ever threaten to do anything like that.

Fuck it I'm beyond arguing with these people. Let em have their fucking plastic Jesus statues and their barb wire just so long as they stay the fuck away from me I refuse to call them my countrymen any longer.

This one claims that if Democrats win in 06, the world will become a liberal oasis and ends with this quote:
It would a radicalized, emboldened bunch out for blood — that of George W. Bush. Republicans downplay the threat at their peril — not to mention the peril of our economy and national security.

21. Saddam told his own military 3 mo. before invasion - no wmds-
The documents purport that Saddam was "deeply distrustful" of his own soldiers, making crucial decisions himself and micromanaging, effectively hobbling his forces. Some examples, the TIMES says, include:

-- The Iraqi dictator was so secretive and kept information so compartmentalized that his top military leaders were stunned when he told them three months before the war that he had no weapons of mass destruction, and they were demoralized because they had counted on hidden stocks of poison gas or germ weapons for the nation's defense.

22. and this, also from NYT
According to Mr. Tenet's account, which is generally in accord with that of NBC and the former intelligence officials, the source now identified as Mr. Sabri gave a mixed account of Iraq's weapons programs when he spoke with French intelligence officers in the fall of 2002.

Mr. Tenet said in his speech, at Georgetown University in February 2004, that a source who had direct access to Mr. Hussein had said that Iraq had no nuclear weapons but was "aggressively and covertly" seeking to develop them. Mr. Tenet said the source had also reported that the Hussein government was "dabbling" with biological weapons but had no "real weapons program."

23. Gee, why would 'Investor's Business Daily' want to run this?
Hmmm...

"Halliburton, the world's second-largest oil field services company, has seen its revenues climb due to robust spending by oil and gas producers seeking to boost output to take advantage of high energy prices.

The company has said it plans to launch an initial public offering for 20 percent of its engineering and construction unit KBR, which is the Pentagon's biggest private contractor in Iraq.

Halliburton recently raised its quarterly dividend by 20 percent, putting the first-quarter dividend per share at 15 cents.

In addition, the company's board has approved a $1 billion share buyback program and a 2-for-1 stock split, which must be approved by shareholders at the upcoming annual meeting.

"We are absolutely committed then to returning that additional cash flow back to our shareholders by continuing to look at dividend increases or increasing our share repurchases," Lesar said. "

"While a small number of old, abandoned chemical munitions have been discovered, ISG judges that Iraq unilaterally destroyed its undeclared chemical weapons stockpile in 1991."

"ISG judges that in 1991 and 1992, Iraq appears to have destroyed its undeclared stocks of BW weapons and probably destroyed remaining holdings of bulk BW agent."

Then how do they explain the fact that Saddam to never used WMDs on advancing U.S. troops, which Freepturds claim that Saddam's sole ambition was to hit the U.S. with WMDs and that is why we invaded?

Because Saddam had no WMDs, and Freepturds are fucking up this country in the process of desperately trying to make WMDs out of a pile of fabricated bullshit.
