"No shit! Holy Joe's cracking": bashes NY Times like a good GOPer
...The line actually reads:

"It’s time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge that he will be the commander in chief for three more critical years and that in matters of war we undermine the president’s credibility at our nation’s peril."

Lieberman’s response?

Lieberman: This quote is totally out of context. You might have gotten it from the bloggers, who love to do this.
McEnroe: No actually I got it…
Lieberman: Read the whole speech, it’s below your standards.
McEnroe: Senator actually I got it from the New York Times.
Lieberman: Well that’s just as bad! Go back and read the speech, be more responsible.

Below is an excerpt. The link goes to the entire speech.

- snip - That is why I feel so strongly that it is time for us to set aside for now the arguments about why we got into Iraq so that we can work together on how we can get out best in victory and honor with the job done.

With the consequences of victory or defeat in Iraq so large for our future safety, and liberty; and with the lives of 160,000 Americans in uniform on the line there everyday, it is urgent that all of us who want to complete our mission successfully and do not favor an arbitrary timetable for withdrawal put the national goals we hold in common ahead of the party labels that too often divide us.

I recall here the wisdom of Secretary of War, Henry L. Stimson, who served our country during World War II and the beginning of the Cold War. Stimson said that sometimes the best way to make a person trustworthy is to trust him. There is wisdom there. It is time that America’s leaders, in the White House and Congress, Republicans and Democrats, who agree on our goals in Iraq but disagree on tactics to start trusting each other again so that we can work together again. The distrust is deep and I know it will be difficult to overcome, but history will judge us harshly if we do not stretch across the divide of distrust and join together to complete our mission successfully in Iraq.

It is time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge that he will be Commander-in-Chief for three more critical years, and that in matters of war we undermine Presidential credibility at our nation’s peril. - snip-

6. Note to Joe: Be Responsible
It's time for you to acknowledge that the President's lack of credibility has put our nation at peril.

7. Ned Lamont for Senate! Joe has GOT to GO!
Why am I running?

I am running for the US Senate because Connecticut deserves a Senator who will stand up to the Bush administration, whose policies are so harmful to our state and our country. Connecticut deserves a Senator who will turn back judicial appointees outside of the mainstream, who will fight for affordable universal health care, and who will challenge the status quo in Washington DC.

Current Campaign News:

Six weeks ago, I issued a challenge to the people of Connecticut: If you agree with my vision, sign up to volunteer.

I asked for 1,000 of you to sign up and more than 1,500 from Connecticut have already done so, with more joining every day. You are volunteering, donating, and sharing your thoughts and talent and ideas.

Ours will be a grassroots campaign. We will be going door to door, person to person, to find people who share our vision - that it is time for change in Washington DC.

I am proud to formally announce my candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate from Connecticut. I welcome the challenge and debate to come and thank you for your support.

Since I said I was willing to challenge Joe Lieberman in the Democratic primary, we've been overwhelmed with notes of encouragement and people signing up on NedLamont.com. I've been traveling around the state too, listening to voters, and finding an outpouring of intense frustration with many of Senator Lieberman's votes. Democrats, Independents and even many Republicans desperately want a Senator who will stand up to the President's wrong-headed fiscal, judicial and foreign policy choices.

But, it will take an unprecedented grassroots movement in Connecticut, and unprecedented support from Americans everywhere, to beat an entrenched and well-funded incumbent like Joe Lieberman.

Our campaign cannot succeed without your financial support!

- Ned

9. Joe Lieberman - Endorsed by Sean Hannity and FOX news.
That's about all there is to know about Joe. Hannity doesn't endorse real Democrats. He'd lose his job if he did.

11. How much more of the media/press bashing will real journalists take?
Their support of this administration's lying and deceiving has now turned on them. Have they no shame? Will they never speak up and smack these liars down?
