Please Call Country Radio To Request....
I'm not a listener of Country radio, but I'm going to make it a point between now and May, to phone in requests for the new Dixie Chicks song. They have a lot of enemies because of their comments, and need our support to Overcome! Song is "I'm Not Ready To Make Nice." It's a strong statement by these 3 lovely ladies.

Listen to song at www.dixiechicks.com

I must confess that I like classic country and rockabilly more than this Tobby Keith bullshit though.

3. Give it a listen, here's an excerpt

Not bad, I'm no country fan, but its well done:

here's the part worth hearing, seems to reference threats:

made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don’t mind sayin’
It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they’d write me a letter
Sayin’ that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over

FYI: I was looking at Newsmeat looking at political contributions of celebrities... most country singers do contribute to Repukes, but not Natalie Maines, TIm McGraw or Faith Hill (their recent comments are in keeping with past political donations)

6. Yep....That Stanza Says It All
Makes you think about the recent Keith Olbermann reports that both Justice Ginsburg & O'Connor apparently were recipients of death threats.

8. I'm calling every station
whether they play country music or not. Most station managers around here know me, so they will probably take my suggestion.

11. The Atlanta stations still won't play The Chicks
I'm not a country fan, but I'm a Dixie Chicks fan. The Atlanta Journal/Constitution ran an article just a couple of weeks ago about how the local stations still won't play their music.

14. They'll Play What They're Told To Play....
They get enough requests, and they will play it.

Tell 'em you're going to get a subscription to satellite radio if they don't get a clue!

Recently Keith Olbermann said that his bosses are happy so long as they're making money. He can say whatever he wants, do the stories he feels like, and they don't care if he has good ratings, and makes them $$$$$$$. I assure you that these stations will cave eventually.

16. I Think They'll Go Down In History Favorably
When music history looks back, they will be seen as pseudo protesters who were Right about what was going on.

When people are saying that they're ashamed that King george is from AMERICA, they'll be able to shout that they were Embarassed Long Ago.

18. This Song Belongs On "Soccer Mom" Stations
A great message...and, yes, I hope it gets played on every honky-tonk, Toby Keith pukin' country station since the album is such a top seller!

Even better this song should get a push on the Adult Contemporary and Modern Adult stations...the ones that focus on the 25-54 women...the moms this song addresses!

Damn it's good to hear some real passion in a song...been missing on the airwaves for a long time.

19. Great Article From '03 With Al Gore's Support
I found this article, which is Exactly 3 years old.

Dixie Chicks Get Support From Al Gore

03/31/2003 7:00 AM, LAUNCH
Nancy Brooks

(3/31/03, 7 a.m. ET) -- The Dixie Chicks controversy continues with the trio getting some support from former Vice President Al Gore. Gore spoke to a college audience last week on the subject of fewer companies owning more media outlets, and what he sees as the increasing lack of tolerance for opposing views.

According to the Tennessean, Gore used recent attacks on the Dixie Chicks that followed anti-war comments by Natalie Maines as an example. Gore told the audience, "They were made to feel un-American and risked economic retaliation because of what was said. Our democracy has taken a hit," Gore said. "Our best protection is free and open debate."

Record sales have fallen for the Chicks and radio stations across the country banned the trio's music after Maines told a London concert crowd that she was "ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas." Maines later released an apology.

20. Here's What We're Up Against!
This was posted at Yahoo Dixie Chicks message board. Most posts were in support, but this and others stand out. I'm going to try and give it a Negative Rating.
