Republicans for Humility
"....It really depends upon how our nation conducts itself in foreign policy. If we're an arrogant nation, they'll resent us.....but if we're a humble nation they'll respect us."
George W. Bush, October 11, 2000

2. These are the people who make me angriest.
Edited on Thu Mar-23-06 11:38 AM by baby_mouse
The otherwise intelligent ones who thought they "understood" that the question was complex and chose their original position consciously through some sort of "weighing up" or "balancing", through what they thought was patient reflection.

Scratch the surface and you find that what lies beneath is no different from the fundamentalists. Their beliefs are founded on an irrational hatred of people who want to make things nicer for the other people around them. And that's all.

I have met no exceptions.

All their cognition rests on this one foundation stone. How do I know this? Contradictory positions surface in argument with them, the only common ground between them being an antipathy to altruism. They view it as weak.

One of them reading this comment will backflip inside his brain looking for a way to contradict it, hide his true feelings from himself and mentally sing "la la la" to literally become, in his own eyes, some other sort of republican, in the twinkling of a thought. But the end result is the same.

He's willing to be anything, ANYTHING, so long is it isn't a hippy.

3. ha, that's a funny one!
I was laughing at your title, and then i found
that the website is serious. but clearly the poor sot,
by voting for bush, is not all that profound,
and all his wise writings indicative of the new plot.
The republican right thinks they can move on past the bush fall,
planning their empire on the back of another lot,
of poor girls and boys sent to war, dying for corporate gall,
republicans are back, humble, in shades, self forgiven polyglots.

The new language they adopt the wisdom they keep sellin,
that something's worth preserving in what they've got,
more war and bankruptcy just ain't gellin'
we don't need any more humble excusers and apologetic tots.
Republicans need eat your own humble pie,
losing badly the next general poll, wounded cry.

4. Remember How We Weren't Going To "Nation Build"
Ya know...get bogged down in the minutae of some small country trying to "social engineer" a political solution...like Clinton wanted to do in Bosnia and Rwanda. :sarcasm:

The credibility of this regime looks so pathetic when its current lies are compared to it's older lies.

Cheers...
