Police don't want anonymous calls to fight crime
According to the NYPD conference they are trying to find an anonymous 911 caller in the case of the student kill and dumped in Brooklyn. Whoever called apparently wanted to notify the police to something but did not want to become personally involved. Now they are letting him/her and anyone else who wants to do so know their help is not welcome or appreciated.

It is always a good idea to have the number to the local police station programed in to your cell phone and/or written down beside your home phone. Phone books used to have the local police departments phone numbers on the first page even after there was 911 service, guess the police asked them to stop giving that number out so prominently.
