Did Issac Hayes quit South Park or did someone "quit" for him?
My source on this is Fox News and I've not heard another source, but this guy says:

I guess people missed this on Monday, so I will again state Isaac Hayes’ case. He had a minor stroke in January and is now at home for rehab and recuperation.

As close friends told me over the weekend, he did not resign from "South Park" or issue any kind of press release to that effect. Although headlines like "Hayes Gives the Shaft to 'South Park'" are funny, they are inaccurate.

Here’s the problem: Hayes is no longer managed by Bruce Garfield at Avenue Management. All of the communication from him comes through a woman named Christina "Kumi" Kimball, a fashion executive for designer Craig Taylor, another Scientologist.

snip

Before the public and the media buy this whole brouhaha, I beseech everyone to take a step back and see what actually went on here. Many times, things are not as they seem. And that is definitely the case with this story. The only good news in this story is that Isaac, according to friends, is doing very well. He’s attending to business and getting back on his feet. Hopefully, he’ll be dishing up Chef like a gourmet again in no time.

near the bottom of the page. I want to believe Issac was a tool of the Scientologists so I'm kind of following this. But then I heard they killed him off last night????

I hope it was all a big mistake. No one is ever killed off South Park.

4. I think this guy at Fox thinks the statement to Parker and Stone
was issued by the evil agent, and not Issac. Seems Issac would have cleared it up by now unless the stroke was worse than is being said.

3. Isaac Hayes is a prince among men
And I hope his health improves and all this BS can be put behind him.

SP is a fun show. He did some fun stuff on it. But his music is his legacy.

5. They did NOT kill chef last night.
It was a pretty god-awful episode in a sense. Chef comes back to South Park, after a long absence. He suddenly wants to have sex with children and constantly talks about it. (He never does, though). This is because he's been brainwashed by the Super Adventure Club, which has very depraved goals to molest children all over the world. Eventually Chef is brought back to his normal self, but is drugged and re-brainwashed. He's eventually injured and is not quite himself. However, he was brought back from death by the Super Adventure Club.

The cute part of the episode was Stan repeatedly defending chef and trashing the "Super Adventure Club." At chef's funeral (where they buried his ladle), Stan gives a sort of touching speech about remembering chef (Isaac Hayes) for all the good things that he's done. "Don't hate chef; hate what that fruity little club did to him."

Screw Katie Holmes. FREE ISAAC!!! :)

6. If screwing Katie Holmes would free Isaac
Then I am willing to make the sacrifice and go where no MAN has gone before.

10. Chef is now Darth Chef.
Edited on Thu Mar-23-06 07:53 PM by Rex
As far as scientology and Hayes goes - it wouldn't be the first 'accident' in the name of Xenu.

This could all be a PR stunt, who knows. I bet Darth Chef has a few good lines in em.

11. I just watched the episode
and it looks to me like Chef is most surely dead.

He fell into a ravine. Then:
a mountain lion attacked him (and ripped off his face and one arm)
a super adventure club person shot him
a grizzly bear attacked him and ripped off his leg

The boys said, "Oh my god they killed Chef. You bastards!"
Then Cartman said, "Maybe he's okay. They say the last thing you do before you die is crap your pants."

And then, well you guessed it, Chef crapped his pants.
Cartman said, "oh nevermind."

The town had a nice memorial service but didn't have a body there. Just a spatula tied up with a nice bow.

Then the Super Adventure Club got Chef's body and hooked it up to a machine and put him in a special suit. It looked a lot like Darth Vader but had a chef's hat and a spatula.

The end :)
