White House Denounces Robertson's Remarks on Sharon
Television Evangelist Said Prime Minister's Illness Was Deserved

By Daniela Deane
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, January 6, 2006; 2:54 PM

The White House today criticized television evangelist Pat Robertson's remarks that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's severe illness was deserved, calling the comments "wholly inappropriate and offensive."

White House press spokesman Trent Duffy made the comment to reporters traveling on Air Force One with President Bush this morning. He added that Robertson's comments "don't have a place in this or any other debate."

1. Seems to me Pat doesn't like anyone in the neighborhood.
This "minister" wants everyone to drop dead. Nice guy, walkin' the Jesus walk and all... :eyes:

2. Boy, getting denounced by the WH
until now only those who spoke the truth held that honor.

They've completely destroyed the value of the Denouncement too.

3. Too late. "Patwa" Robertson IS the new Republican party...along with
SpongeDob, "Tinky-winky" Falwell and the rest of the insane Rapturist Right.

Remember Harriet Miers? She didn't meet their wingnut standards (not IQ standards, but wingnut standards) and poof, she's gone. That tells you who's in charge of social policy.

6. True, but that's not why the Rapturist Right opposed her
She didn't pass their zeolot criteria. They'll support unqualified as long as the wingnut colors are obvious.

9. I think that was smoke and mirrors
and Harry Reid knew it which is why they didn't put up a fight. It's so they can go full force for Alito.

8. Perhaps

They still have to use them for votes though. They'll just do a little something like this to seperate them from the crazies of the party, but than turn around when it's time for Alito's hearings to get them to support him.
