Forget Politics .... A Pix from what has made me really rich

I just fund this picture when web surfing .... it made me think of a
January snow about 10 years ago. My "Mac" was @ his prime and we played
in the snow. My son 3 @ the time and laughed every time my lab knocked me
over. God, I miss him.

Just a short note .... and yes I know about the lounge but I just wanted to remind
my DU friends that sometimes we are just the same as Freepers .... politics and
more politics ..... the world still offers some real treats for free.

7. He was a real liberal.
He was a champion and went out to stud ... but he and a black male lab
used to hump each other in the front yard .... it got so I wouldn't pay it
a second thought.

5. No. I'm sorry, but no. Sorry you're feeling sad about your dog, but we
are NEVER "just the same as freepers."

Never.

6. No not sad about him at all.
He had a great life ..... and gave me much.

But sometime (and I am just as guilty as this as all others) we
seem to let our hatred for bush consume us .... ( I live in Ohio
and watched 1st hand as "they" stole it too) .... just like the
Freepers and their anti Clinton crap. Logic and thinking not
withstanding.

8. Still, I'm sorry about you losing your pooch. I know it hurts.
Sure sounds like that was a good dog. And I know about losing a good dog; you have my sympathy. Sorry for throwing a negative comment into your thread.

and all comments are welcome .... that is why I love DU.
I still am amazed @ all the different thoughts among just us.

I just saw the picture and wanted people to see it. Snow, the big paws,
and the joy on the dog's face.... to me all good things.

peace!

16. Here's my 'favorite' post from a Smoking Ban thread ...
It was removed, of course, and I deliberately removed and forgot who posted it, other than the fact it wasn't an 'infiltrator' or 'disruptor' but a long-time member of the DU community,

9. I adore dogs. My brother once said that if he were reincarnated,
Edited on Fri Mar-24-06 11:35 PM by 8_year_nightmare
he'd like to come back as my dog. I treat my dogs like humans.

But I disagree about the comparison of us discussing a truly evil, incompetent, controlling, tunnel-visioned administration who has affected not only our lives negatively, but those in other countries, too, with the freepers who couldn't find anything wrong with Clinton but his love for women.

I come to DU exclusively for discussing & reading about politics. I've never been to the lounge. When I want to back off from political discussion, I turn the computer off & enjoy other personal interests.

14. Please I did not mean to offend ....
.... just free (take it or leave it) advice be it a dog in snow, a spring wildflower,
a family member leaning on you on a sofa, or a good book w/ a cup of coffee;
I just saw that picture and thought that real wealth is something that money can't
buy and a lot of DUers already know that.

17. You were not offensive in the least, Botany.
But I just wanted to point out that I don't think we'll ever stoop to the level of the freepers. They hate for the fun of it; we have good reason when we gripe.

:hi:

12. That's Actually A Really Great Picture, Whoever Took It.
Really captures the essence of "(wo)man's best friend".

Adorable picture, and heartwarming thread. Thanks for reminding us it is still the simple things in life that matter most.

15. "Bojangles" went for the Big Milk Bone in the Sky 17 years ago
... and rarely a day goes by that I don't miss him and give thanks he was my most loyal friend for nearly 13 years. I vividly remember him "porpoising" joyfully through hip-deep snow to fetch his retrieving dummy and bringing back to hand for his next 'go.' IMHO, Labrador Retrievers win the perennial Best of Breed award. Bo owns a place in my heart always.
