Punk Rock band opposes Depleted Uranium

Anti-Flag says that "Depleted Uranium is a War Crime."

That is the title of a song on their new album, "For Blood and Empire."

The song starts with audio of Congressman Jim McDermott (D-WA) saying "Depleted Uranium is used on the ends of bullets and on the ends of shells because it is so hard (that) almost any armament is vulnerable to something that is tipped with Depleted Uranium."

Then Anti-Flag sings:

but they're not at home. Anti-Flag started out here in Pittsburgh, so I should at least give them a listen. I have a CD here called "A New Kind of Army". Should I try that, or do you have another recommendation?

Today Anti-Flag and Rep. Jim McDermott held a press conference in Los Angeles to announce that we are launching a petition drive to force Congress to adopt bill H.R. 2410 — The Depleted Uranium Munitions Study Act, which was introduced in the 109th Congress by Rep. Jim McDermott. The bill calls for in-depth studies to be conducted on DU and its effects on the health of those exposed to it. As of today the bill has 39 co-sponsors comprised of 38 Democrats and one Republican. Learn more on D.U. below.
