Credibility
Edited on Mon Mar-27-06 06:45 PM by ThomWV
Scottie tells us today that our credibility in Iraq rests on the fact that we did what we said we would do. We said we'd go to war, and we did. He denied that credibility might rest on the accuracy of our reasons for what we did. He tells us that is how we are looked on by tyrants everywhere. His words, not mine.

It seems incredulous to me that the White House feels its target audience for creditability are the world's tyrants

I would suggest that to the American people credibility rests with the truth. It would be nice if we were the target audience for a display of that rare commodity for a change.

4. What's with the "re-" ?
Whole threads on the illegalities of 2000 and 2004, Diebold etc. here on DU.

Kriky, even Ukrainian exit polls were more accurate than here (supposedly).

5. Credibility? We have no credibility.
Not with Bush in office. Not as long as he remains in office. There is no credibility. Anything coming out of Scottie's mouth is naturally assumed to be a lie until it's proven to be the truth. Saves time that way. He almost always lies.

I don't know why the White House even has press conferences confrontations any more, all Scottie does is lie.

7. We have no credibility anymore. Zip. Zilch Nada. All pissed away.
And it is going to be at least a generation before we get any semblance of it back. Credibility is synonymous with trust, in that it needs to be earned. No one hands you credibility.

We had the trust of the world at one time. Remember the cold war? Nato, and the alliances that we built up during that time? How everything went through our allies, and that we were a part of and not apart from? Fast forward to modern day, where we love to say screw the rest of the world, we want that oil, and we want that strategic location, and no one is going to stop us. France doesn't like it? Buncha cheese eating surrender monkeys. Fuck 'em, who cares if they saved our asses during the American Revolution, and we wouldn't even be a country today without them. Pass the freedom fries.

And that's how it starts. Our name is mud around the world now, because the rich, overfed, greedy top 5 per-centers wanted to get their empire on, and forgot the one basic rule of karma: "be careful who you step on, because they are the same ones you will be seeing on your way back down.

And down we are heading...

credibility in Iraq. I want some of what he's smoking.
