Keep on posting, Land of the Free, I understood what you meant right away. Yes, Phelps is a psycho. As someone who used to work the weekend shift in the E.R., I can tell you there are a lot more crazy people in this world than we sometimes realize. Almost all of them are less offensive and vicious than Phelps.

I'm sorry that I didn't think carefully about how my thread title originally appeared. It was a poor choice for a title. I posted it quickly in outrage about the story's content.

Since I'm very supportive of our soldiers but very against this unjustified war, I was just stunned by this story. I certainly don't want people like Phelps' group equated with people who wish for peace.

I have heard of Fred Phelps' group before, but I had not heard they have now protested about 100 fallen soldier's funerals, that they are traveling the country to yell such hateful things at mourners.

I was simply astonished at how despicable some people are, that they would do such a thing at a soldier's funeral.

is going to be killed at one of these funerals. Maybe that's what these idiots want to happen.

although I condone their actions agains the Phelps clan, I have issues with them.

We had a local funeral for a fallon servicewoman that was attended by the Patriot Guard on a 'Rumor' that Cindy Sheehan was going to protest at it. Never mind the fact that Cindy was in Washington DC that day and she no longer even lived in the town. Their actions spoke volumes to me on that glummy day and my opinion of them dropped.
