Edmunicate me. How have *'s tax cuts benefited the nation?

I keep hearing that they have and I can't think of anybody but the top 1% benefiting from them. In what way am I wrong?

That's what they mean by personal responsibility. We're personally responsible for not benefiting from a system designed to harm us.

I guess you don't understand the "Trickle-up Theory of Economics."

Of course, along with those new billionaires, millions of Americans have fallen below the poverty level since the tax cuts. You never hear them touting those numbers.

More billionaires - less Americans earning a living wage. Should be pretty obvious that the money taken out of the pockets of the poor have found their way into the bank accounts of the already-wealthy.

It's a simple matter of 'Supply and Demand'. The wealthy demand more money, and the poorest Americans have to provide it.

Bushco showed it's true colors then. My bank would not accept the check my wife had endorsed, because she was not present when I went to deposit it citing "IRS rules." I got pissed and went outside and deposited it in the ATM. They said it would come back, but I never heard another word about it. The stores made it real easy to cash and spend checks there on weekends and evenings when couples would be together. It was all a scam to get extra money into the hands of retailers by making it difficult for working people to deposit the checks.

These bastards have been corporatist crooks from before day one.

but I don't see how that's a benefit to the nation. There are more important things to life than simple lucre.

A client of mine is one of the richer people in the nation, but I've heard them say on many occasions that the paltry dollars they've accrued over the years from the tax cuts are nothing compared to the mess the nation is in. So even the rich aren't unanimous in support of him or his blind adherence to cuts. This person, in particular, believes there are far greater benefits to be gained from protecting the national environment than there is in lining their vault with ever greater stacks of paper. You can't enjoy your money if they world around you is a cesspool yearning for war as a surcease of ennui.

So I know I haven't "edmunicated" you, but I do hope I've opened your eyes to a less rigid view of the class divide.

Lets just say I'm paying more this year. I really am uncomfortable talking about "how many" $$$ I make yearly in such a public forum, but frankly I really expected a "break" considering all the talking points on "who" (income levels) this tax cut would benefit.

Apparently that was yet another deception (lie) as well..... :grr:

Oh well, you pay what you owe and you move on. I've got bigger fish to fry.
