Flowers for the rest of the press corps.?
I applaud the coordinating efforts of those involved in the "flowers for Helen" campaign. She deserves accolaes and recognition for doing her job.

How about a similar campaign to send dead, black roses to the complacent, lapdog journalists who cover the White House, giving the prez a pass on scandal after scandal?

Just a thought.

5. Isn't there some flower that smels like carrion?
That could be appropriate.

6. There are a few who ask good questions, just not as consistently...
David Gregory has shown some courage. There are a couple of younger female reporters who do as well, but I don't know who they are.

Bottom line, we should be careful about the broad stroke paint brush approach unless we are really sure. There are certainly tons of Bush* sycophants, but it is possible that the editors and publishers are silencing reporters who submit critical content.

8. David Gregory excluded, of course.
As for the rest? Black, dead roses. Or a dog biscuit.

7. There's a Victorian language of flowers
Men would send bouquets to their love interests, and the flowers would tell them the message from simple statements of love to running of together at a certain time. For instance, red roses means love while yellow ones mean goodbye.

One time I went to get flowers for a then-girlfriend, and the lady behind the counter suggested a particular kind, and I refused, telling her what it meant in terms of the Victorian language of flowers. She looked at me strange, got out a book, looked it up, saw that I was right, and looked at me stranger. Since it was a small town, I said, "I'm not gay. You heard me ask for flowers for my girlfriend. I only know about the Victorian Language of Flowers because of a Batman comic book I read years ago!"
