I'd LOVE to see D.L. rip into Tom DeLay. I'm sure it would be priceless.

5. Darn good question.
Maybe some combo of these folks:

1 the BBC's Judy Swallow

2 TX Sen. John Cornyn

3 CNN's Christianne Amanpour

4 Brainless bully Toby Keith

5 FL Congresswoman Katherine Harris

6 Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin

7 White House flunkie Scott McClellan

and

8 former NY Gov. Mario Cuomo

I know it's too many guests for one panel, but I think the sparks would fly with that bunch.

15. Hi, stanwyck. Me, too. Love him to death. I voted for him for
NYC mayor in that very tight late-70s race (Koch, Cuomo, Abzug, and Badillo all finished within a point or two of each other -- and all four ran magnificent, gritty campaigns. Koch and Cuomo ran in the run-off with Koch prevailing.)

I want Mario Cuomo on the Supreme Court, so a good showing by blue candidates in 06 and a Democratic ticket win in 08 is favorable for that to happen. No guarantee, but with a GOP prez, it's removed from all chance.

Very nice to bump into a fellow Cuomo fan on DU!

13. He does not WANT you to like him
He wants you to have the same level of dislike for him that the GOP have. He is not a liberal, he is not a conservative, he is a Maherite--in essence, a selfish libertarian prick. One of those guys who likes low taxes, no services save a strong defense, prostitution on demand and pot machines in the bars!

The fact that people with a particular ideological bent, be it right or left, take issue with him means his schtick is working.

22. Maher is the bomb. Why?
Because he does not believe that HIS opinions should be law, unlike conservatives.

Of course he has his own opinions, lets not forget he's a comedian(even if he truly does wants pot and prostitutes)

But he's smart, and does know what he's talking about.

19. You'll never find Rush outside
his carefully controlled, tightly managed environment. He's got more handlers than Bush.
I saw the video of his appearance on Letterman years ago. The poor man almost went into cardiac arrest. Really. He was sweating and stumbling and totally off.
His show is as fixed as wrestling.
He, like his master Bush, can't handle direct questions. He needs his notes and his staff feeding him info. He's no Clinton. There's no knowledge base or quick thinking.
He'd be a total disaster on a show like Maher's. He'd get his lunch handed to him by a Hollywood celeb.
And, then, back on the drugs.
And we don't want to be responsible for that, do we?

She's too obnoxious, the only fair way to neutralize Coulter is to add in Malloy.

Malloy in the ring with Coulter! I'd pay money to watch him thrash her around

26. Juan Cole!!!!!
I don't know how many times I've heard Bill and
his guests speak out of complete ignorance or without
any nuance concerning Iraq/Middle East issues. Its
the weakest part of the show IMO. Juan Cole would
clean up but his demeaner and speaking style are
probably too soft spoken for the brash style of Real
Time. I'd love to see him lay the smack down though.

36. Actually, I wish he were more careful in selecting his convervatives.
I don't mind a guy like Lou Dobbs, who although I disagree a lot with, does think through his ideas and tries to present a well-reasoned position. However, he should really leave the astroturf spreaders out like he had last Friday. They bring down the quality of the show with their commercial spin on propaganda.
