Cynthia McKinney should get as much jail time as the GOP guy...
who ran a stop sign killing a motorcyclist.

The crimes are very similar in nature. I know. I was there!

Then basing your opinions from what you've heard on the news?????????????? The same source that told us that Saddam was behind 9/11 and had weapons of mass destruction????

What's absurd?

As someone wrote -- the cops refuse to release the tapes -- I guess it's taking them awhile to doctor the tapes??

7. As someone who lives in Atlanta
she is an embarrassment. This would have gone away if she hadn't decided to issue such a hot headed statement originally. If her first reaction to someone touching her on the arm is to hit them then she has some serious issues. The fact that she wants to use this as race baiting, while here in Atlanta there is ACTUAL racial profiling is irresponsible. I thought Zell Miller would be the most embarrassing -- I was wrong.

...point I was trying to make with you...you misread the total number of posts by at least one of the posters. If you want to make a point in your posts you should try to base your comments on factual information. To do otherwise just makes you look bad, not anyone else.

And you can skip the lecture on how to use the "Alert" button...I've been here for a while myself.

55. Here's what you posted....
"Plus, the person you are calling names has been here twice as long as you have."

IMHO, it is not at all clear from what you posted that you meant duration of time instead of
the routinely acceptable number of posts.

Those here the longest amount of time usually have more posts than those that have been here the shortest amount of time. Yes, atldem has been here since 2002, and Rainscents has been here from Dec 14, 2004...but atldem has 202 total posts while Rainscents has a total of 5,653.

By the way, I'm doing some work today, and I may not always be available for some
near-instantaneous conversation with someone that seems intent on starting onr or
more arguments. I post here at MY convenience, not yours.

I posted to someone and you jumped in, and then accuse me of "someone that seems intent on starting onr or more arguments"

If you don't know the difference between "twice as long" and "number of posts", then I don't feel it is up to me to define those phrases to you.

I'm not here to start fights, I just think it's wrong to see people accuse others as being "trolls" because of the amount of posts they have. And looking at the post now, i think the moderators agree with me.

Nice try in trying to make me look stupid, but I personally don't think it worked. I fond it really hard that a person with your intelligence couldn't distinguish between the amount of time and the number of posts, but maybe it isn't as easy as I would think.

25. what are the facts as you see them.
I'm not a troll. I am an Atlanta voter. I have always voted democrat. I think she got a raw deal when she was vilified for her 9/11 comments. But when she ran against Majette and her father got on television and said that if she loses it is because of the jews....
Well that kind of tore it for me.

She entered a secure building without her pin or ID and she went around a security checkpoint. I assume this was noticed and someone said something and since she was on the phone she wasn't paying attention so they touched her on the arm. How she was touched, I don't know. But I can deduce since I've been in many governmental buildings that the security guard in question wasn't the only person there. I can't imagine a circumstance in which a blatant assault on a government official was seen and no one said anything. Maybe he should have just let her go through. Do you think your congressperson would like to know that if the security guard out front says "stop" and you don't you just get to keep on going.

34. Sorry, but you're wrong. She DID have her ID and showed it to the cop!

She entered a secure building without her pin or ID and she went around a security checkpoint.

The above is from your post ~ and many Congresspersons do not wear their lapel pin, they carry ID, as she was doing. How many are asked to produce it as she was, and has been before? We don't know that. I would like to know.

I have never considered the first Democrat in Congress to raise the issue of questions the 9/11 families had an embarrassment. I have considered those who tried to silence those families, and as their representative, Cynthia McKinney, to be a huge embarrassment.

38. The whole thing about this issue is about slam her first before the fact
come out. I myself don't believe anything spin machines corporate media release out to public after 6 1/2 years of nothing but lies we been told. She did wear her ID, but not her pin. I'm not saying she did everything right, what I'm saying people are accusing her of hitting cop when in-fact, not one of us really knows what happened. My nerves are short nowadays since these right wing criminals had taken over our country. I at least thought, by now, people would had the the lesion from r-wing spin machines they spill shit out to public.

This whole issue is about, getting Cynthia out of the office and GOP now have excuse to hijack her vote away from her in Nov and say... People voted for GOP because what she did to COP.

1) She refused to vote for a resolution in 1994 condemming the anti-semitic statements of a Farrakhan disciple.
2) She blamed the Jews for throughout her entire 2002 campaign for her faltering results at the polls.

among others.

39. How do you know she punched a cop? I agree if anyone punched a
cop, they'd be in the slammer right now, so why isn't she? Because DC just loves Democrats who speak out against this administration? Oh wait, they got her thrown out of Congress before because she did just that, so it can't be that!

Maybe because she's black? But if that were the case, why the disproportionate number of black people in jail these days?

Maybe it's because she DIDN'T punch a cop? She sure hasn't been charged with anything yet has she?

Maybe she was behaving 'like the rest of us' ~ did that ever occur to you? We do know she had ID with her and she showed it to the cop. That's what the rest of us would do, wouldn't we? Would the cop have refused to accept 'the rest of us'' ID? That's the question we need an answer to. Why did the cop refuse to accept her ID?

I don't blame her at all for helping stir it all up. The more the right squeals and spews on this the less money she'll have to spend on her re-election. It's also likely translate into black voters all over the country getting stirred up against the Republicans.
