What to do with 12 million illegal immigrants?
Move 12 million wealthy Americans to Mexico, let them build a new state, begin building an American-like infrastructure with jobs, banking, entertainment etc. These wealthy MFs are only taking up space in America anyway. They don't pay a much in taxes as poor working slobs, they have all the adult toys they need and they are fast becoming the "idle rich." They drive up prices on everything and cost the nation a huge amount in energy and assault on the environment with their wasteful life styles. Move them to Mexico, hire workers to build some waterfronts, ski resorts, and theaters and a slew of upscale restaurants.

1. It's already happening.
Americans are building their own American communities in Baja.

2. Maybe we should ask the Native Americans ...
... they seem to have had a similar - albeit on a smaller scale - problem here about 400 years ago.

3. Well, your plan may work if Mexico is conducive to nice golf courses.

5. I'd swap 12 million illegals for Fundies and Rethuglies any day.
Let them wake up in the middle of a walled community that restricts them to dealing with each other. In 10 years, they'll have killed themselves off. Nasty bastits don't deserve to live here anyway.

7. okay, I have a question--if these people are all here illegally, how the
HELL do we know how many of them there are???????
are they registering somewhere? wearing signs (thank you, bill engvahl) saying "I am an illegal"? filling out forms identifying themselves as such?
and if we DO know who and where they are, why is the government NOT doing as molly ivins suggested, and jailing the people who hire them?

someone, please, clear this up for me.
