George W. Bush*, you rock! (daylight savings time)
Someone just sent me a message on MySpace talking about how George W. Bush* is planning to sign into law a bill that would extend daylight savings time by at least four weeks (though he wants two months).

That totally rocks. More sunlight in the evening!

So now there are three things in my list:

- national do not call registry
- personed mission to Mars
- and now, more daylight!

 :bounce:  :toast:

1. He's such an idiot.
Like extending DST is going to solve our dependency on oil.

2. You just heard about this?
The bill was signed into law last year. Now, although you may be happy over the change, do you know why it was made? To save energy! Of course, any real conservation measures haven't been put into effect-only things like this.

3. The outlook for the 2006 elections has changed dramatically, IMO!
Having changed the subject from Iraq and NO and income inequality and immigration and environment and foreign relations and ports and security and debt to daylight, which everyone is in favor of, how can the dems possibly win any seats? WHO IS AGAINST DAYLIGHT?

4. DST sucks for farmers and rural folks.
And others as children wait for school buses in the dark.

5. Besides, if you're a chicagoan, you know
being on the eastern edge of CST blows. I'd like to join EST full time.

9. Yeah, I actually grew up in western Michigan.
I'd love those nights during summer vacation where the sun wouldn't set until between 9:30 and 10pm, and now look at this.

6. I think he wants to take those daylight savings and have you invest
them on Wall Street so when you retire you're not completely left in the dark.

8. How about
increasing the MPG standard by 7 more miles to the gallon. That would stop completely our dependence of Middle East oil.

Now that would be something.

11. It's all a misunderstanding. Bush doesn't know what daylight savings time
is. He thought it was a way of putting more money in middle class America's pockets, without costing his top 1% base anything. Besides, daylight is free, right? And with the world getting hotter, that means more sun, and there should be lots of extra daylight to go around...
