KOLKATA: A young couple committed suicide in West Bengal after they were rebuked by the man's father for borrowing Rs 8 to meet a deficit for buying a garment.

Police said Indranath was furious when he got to know from an acquaintance that his son had borrowed money to buy a garment for his wife.

He raised the issue during dinner and the couple felt humiliated. They locked themselves in a room and consumed poison. They were rushed to hospital but both died on way
