Beating Them at their Own Game - a new tax plan

It's time to out-Bush Bush and the Republican party on taxes. If reducing taxes is good for citizens and the US economy, then let's eliminate them for everyone who makes under $40,000 per year.

If the Pubs yell about the deficits it will cause, repeat their words to them: "The deficit doesn't matter! We can borrow to pay for government." We'll make the cuts for all Bush's top money makers, but we demand no taxes for the under $40,000 per year. That should communicate to those below $40,000 per year our commitment to lessen the burden on their backs.

We'll see if the Pubs want to reduce taxes for the little folks as much as they do for the big folks.

Then let the Pubs try to explain why 9 trillion debt is fine, but 10 won't work.

but $40,000 is a pretty high cutoff. It needs to convey a sense of fairness -- for example, if you are below the poverty line you shouldn't have to pay federal income tax.

What's even more important to me is that there are more tax brackets at the high end. It really burns me that a two-income middle-class family pays can be in the same tax bracket as the CEO of a large company.

Our strategy will be to make Republicans, who after all run things, overrule us, and force us to accept a lower number!

We win because we staked out the best position, and forced them to be the bastards who didn't come through.

Voters remember we tried.
