Bush says it's time for elected leaders in Iraq to `do their job'

(Washington-AP, Apr. 4, 2006 10:55 AM) _ President Bush on Tuesday urged Iraq to move quickly to form a unity government, calling on elected leaders "to stand up and do their job."

He said the formation of a new government would give Iraqis confidence in their future.

Bush's statement, during a brief question-and-answer session with reporters in the Roosevelt Room, came on the heels of a similar admonition by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during a visit to Iraq. Rice had spoken of a "sense of drift" nearly four months after Iraqis held parliamentary elections.

Bush said insurgents were using violence to prevent democracy from taking hold. "One way to help bring confidence to the Iraqi people that those few will not be able to determine the future of that country is for there to be unity government that steps up and says, `I'm willing to lead.'

2. It's hard work...
...for a people to be devasted by an outside attacker and then to go about merrily pretending like it never happened.

4. So?? When is bush going to do his job??
He seems to think speech-afying all day or exercising for several hours per day is his job.

5. Mind numbing...
If Bu$h knew how to do his job this Iraq mess never would have happened in the first place. Now he is their role model as a leader? He can't even take care of his own country much less lead them to rebuild theirs, not that they can when all their people really want now probably is revenge toward us.
