However, I'd feel a bit of schaudenfreude to read a story about miners who survived that accident taking him out somewhere and beating the living crap out of him.

Is that these miners were Americans and America is a godless country that tolerates homosexuality so their dying in a mining accident must be God's punishment to America for tolerating homosexuality.

And that's it. So, basically, all accidental death in the States, from this logic, is caused by God hating fags. Or maybe God is selectively killing people whose deaths he knows (with his spooky predict the future powers) are going to turn up in the papers, so... uh, so they have to be punished on behalf of America. Seeing as how the town's resident's were livid at the officials who let the original good news go out unchecked, an incursion from an outsider like Phelps to mock and use their grief could be more than these poor people can handle.

I am hopeful that I am wrong about this but, I see already thread-thin nerves and patience, and coupling that with an intense grief I cannot begin to fathom, this is a recipe for disaster.

But that can't matter to ole Fred. He gets his name in the paper and in the end that's all that matters, isn't it Fred?
