Wow, I am Amazed... We DID IT! We beat the GOP Spin Machine!
After watching several sunday talk shows, various clips from them, blogs, political sites and discussion boards, we actually DEFEATED the SPIN-attempt by the GOP to implicate Dems in the Abramoff scandal.

If this were a year ago, maybe even 6 months, I'm not so sure the Democrats would have been successful in stopping the lies by the GOP spin machine.

I am stunned! Happy too, but really stunned.

10. I am so glad to hear that!! I was just thinking that I wanted Dean at bat
against the lies on the Abramoff scandal. Since he is a non-beltway guy, he has a certain credibility in places that some others might not have.. i.e., yes, it may only be the choir, but the choir will step up and shout out about the truth if they hear it from Dean. I am very pleased to hear he helped out on this one.

Didn't watch. Was this your impression from a wide sample? Which Sunday shows did you watch?

Let's see how follow up reports this week go. If Ney gets indicted though, I think the Repubs are cooked as far as "Dems do it too!" holds up.

9. Besides Dean/Blitzer, what other shows & guests painted it correct?
I watched Lou Dobbs bitch and whine about Congressmen not returning Abromoff money...most of then democrats (among the names he highlighted). That was on Friday I think.

13. Rumor has it that Chuck Schumer smacked down Russert.
For once it seems that our side actually read the talking points BEFORE going on the bullshit circuit AND did the research so as to have an immediate and effective response. Geeze, that only took like 14 years or so.

Schumer did well, Cornyn turned on his own fellow repub (Reed)
I think Dems had overall upper hand on McLaughlin report
Not to mention that DeLay relinquished control of his leadership position as an underlying emphasis that this is really a repub scandal.

I realize that the alliteration flows, but Incarcerate is synonymous with Imprison. How about Impeach, Convict, Imprison?

One weekend of doing a decent job does not make a victory... it's the football equivalent of moving the ball into your opponent's side of the field. Once we actually see the media doing their job, then it's like being first and goal. Multiple indictments of GOP elites is the touchdown.

After Howard Dean bitch-slapped Blitzer earlier today telling him specifically that no Dems took money from Abramoff, I was watching CNN Headline News and the reporter speaking continued with the "both reps and dems are returning money they received from Abramoff."
