What's your take on Goldberg's move from Air America's top spot?

Was he pushed or did he jump? Is the stated reason similar to "wanting to spend more time with his family" or isd Goldberg simply taking a role more suite to his particular abilities?

Is it good that Air America will be looking for a new CEO to manage it? Or is it a sign of trouble?

Any thoughts or "inside scoop" to share?

NEW YORK -- Air America Radio, the liberal talk radio network that features comedian Al Franken, announced late Wednesday that Danny Goldberg is giving up his role as CEO and will be replaced by an executive from a management consulting firm.

The statement did not go into further detail about Goldberg's departure from the CEO role. A spokeswoman for the company said Goldberg wanted to concentrate on Air America's programming and relations with members of the progressive political community.

my understanding is that he was the one who killed Morning Sedition and now my ride into work without Marc Maron is torture!

maybe or maybe not. Reading between the lines says to me this wasn't his choice.

It could be that -- for better or worse -- he's more of a "content guy" than a management guy.

A CEO has to balancer a lot of things -- income, expenses, marketing and otehr nitty gritty boring stuff required to keep the business running. It's a differernrt skill set than developing and nurturing a product.

It could be that both Goldberg and AA recognized that he is more oriented to the product than the process.

So there could either be more or less to this than meets the eye.

Dunno.
