"Before his indictment, I. Lewis Libby testified to the grand jury investigating the CIA leak that Cheney told him to pass on information and that it was Bush who authorized the disclosure, the court papers say."

11. Kerry's on MSNBC's "Hardball" today. It's time to take off the kid gloves.
Kerry's got to jump on this story and lay out for the American people.

Joe Wilson worked on his campaign staff so Kerry should have more insight on the Plame story than most Dems.

4. And he can be above the IIPA 1982 law?
hmmm....am thinking this is not the case. Especially in light of the current investigation re:Plame's covert status being deliberately undermined.

IF this information was declassified, then why the special prosecution, and why have BushCo et al. been attempting to stonewall Fitzgerald and the GJ from receiving the documents they've requested? Were they just trying to protect Libby? I kind of doubt it. They're only interested in covering their own asses.

6. This is fun to watch
I'm almost happy that the trial date was set for after the elections. That keeps these leaks and announcements dripping all year long.

7. WTF?! Bush acted like he had no idea about this.
I've gotta go look through some old links, but didn't Bush act like he had no idea where the Plame story came from originally? I remember him acting totally ignorant about this. So he was deceiving the public THEN, too?

14. Hmm. Is he saying Bush authorized it, or *Cheney said* Bush authorized it?
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 11:50 AM by calmblueocean
The AP article reads:

"Before his indictment, I. Lewis Libby testified to the grand jury investigating the CIA leak that Cheney told him to pass on information and that it was Bush who authorized the disclosure."

Looks to me like Libby says Cheney told him Bush authorized it. So maybe Bush did, or maybe Cheney lied? Or Libby's lying? Wonder what Cheney will have to say about this.
