Jeeze. How hard should it be to get to the bottom of Plame leak?
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 11:41 AM by Armstead
Today's confusion over the Plame leak have given me a case of deja vu. There's either more or less to this than meets the eye. It should not have become such a long, convoluted guessing game.

There's not that many people who could have been involved. How hard would it be to get them all in a room and say "What the hell happened? Who leaked this and why? And who else knew about it?"

The White House has become like The Kremlin in the old days, when everyone was speculating what was going on behind the walls based on who was standing next to whom on the balcony during the may Day Parade.

Jeeze.

2. 2000 was a coup
for some reason, the rulers still want to preserve an appearance of democracy and rule of law

they need a convoluted, protracted "investigation" to provide that facade while not really challenging the criminal status quo.

13. True.....I get sick of needless complications
This could all have been settled very quickly if this were a rational world.

4. It was obvious, but you needed proof. Without the Dem's ability to
hold formal hearings, it came out in dribs and drabs.

6. Fitz knows who the leaker is

catching him in a legal trap is much more complicated than simply knowing. Especially when your opponent is the President of the United States willing to lie and break the law.

9. There is one question no one has answered yet..................
....and that is who's idea was it in the first place to leak Plame's name? So Bush authorized the leak but anyone with half a brain figured out long time ago it had to be Bush or Cheney who authorized it in the first place. Now I want to know who put him up to it. We all know Bush doesn't do anything without Rove's or Cheney putting him up to it so which one thought this up in the first place because that person should be prosecuted right along with Bush.
