1. I believe they are granted citizenship for
their service in Iraq when they get home. I read it too.

4. non-citizens, yes..."illegals", no
unless you count those in slave wage bondage to Halliburton...(and I do count them)

I somehow doubt the immigrant workers brought in from China and other parts of the world is on the up and up...I'd wager there are some very illegal and downright criminal practices involved in Halliburton's hiring of immigrant workers in Iraq

Halliburton is doing the same for Katrina reconstruction

6. There are tens of thousands of them
Here, an article about this from 2003:

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/military/jan-june03/noncitizens_04-21.html

JEFFREY KAYE: Rincon was a citizen of Colombia, one of 37,000 noncitizens serving in the active duty U.S. armed forces. The military requires only that immigrants be permanent residents, not necessarily citizens in order to serve. Nearly 13,000 reservists are also noncitizens. Rincon was one of at least seven noncitizens among the 128 U.S. Military personnel killed so far in the war in Iraq. All have been awarded posthumous citizenships. In 1989, when Diego was five years old, the Rincon family moved to the U.S. to escape violence. George had worked in Colombia as a bodyguard.

9. The military is using them like the corporate world is
Cheap expendable warm bodies. Its shameful and the powers could give a rats ass what theyre doing to all concerned.

Shameful SOBs who are running this show should go die somewhere.
