Cheney's Aide Says President Approved Leak

WASHINGTON, April 6 — Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff testified that he was authorized by President Bush, through Mr. Cheney, in July 2003 to disclose key parts of what until then was a classified prewar intelligence estimate on Iraq, according to a new court filing.

How did we get from 'Assistant to the President' to 'Cheney's Aide' so quick? I bet no one hardly noticed that.

That headline 'Cheney's Aide Says President Approved Leak' should actually read 'Bush Aide Says President Approved Leak'. Shouldn't it?

2. Both stories say that he was the Chief of Staff to Cheney.
I see no problem here.

3. The second link is not a story
Its the official White House job description for Libby which has been removed from the WH website.

The first link I agree is a story.

5. I have always seen Libby refered to in the media as...
"Cheney's former chief of staff". That statement is accurate.

6. Just because the media "always" says something doesn't make it true
We should all know that by now.

Libby's official White House job title before he was indicted was Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff to the Vice President.

If you think it is accurate to forget Libby was an 'Assistant to the President' thats your business.
