MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. (April 6, 2006) -- Being a member of the armed forces can be a tough job. For the spouses of the service members, it can be even harder. When it comes to the children of the military lifestyle, their hardships may go unnoticed but are real.

April is the month of the military child and is set aside to give recognition to the little ones who endure the military lifestyle. A month-long celebration of uplifting activities is planned for service member childrens’ throughout Quantico

so glad he did not have to go to war since he was active duty between Korean and Vietnam wars was but he did pull two tours of duty in Antartica and the separations were difficult.

I can't imagine what it would be like to have your father or mother in a combat zone. I thought women were not supposed to be active combat from long ago???

General Janis Karpinsky had some horrific information on how women soldiers are treated in Iraqnam, and how some are needlessly losing their life because the military will not protect them from assaults by male soldiers and several in the unit Karpinsky was responsible for died from dehydration because they would not drink much water because they were afraid to use the outdoor restrooms at night because of rape and a male general said it was the women soldiers' fault because they signed up to be in the military???:wtf: :nuke: :nuke: :grr:
