When will People Finally Get Their Pitchforks and Torches and March
down to the white house like the good citizens did in the movie Frankenstein?

If outing a CIA agent is not a crime, then hell, why didn't Bush say in the first place that he did it instead of promising to fire anybody involved?

Day after day of lies, deception, deceit ... it never stops. Is there no straw that can break this camel's back?

2. You're right, but you're missing the big picture
This NIE contained a lot of information that proves that Bush hand-picked intelligence to mislead this country into war.

That is what we need to focus on.

is that he will protect the Government from all enemies... People don't want to get mowed down by .50 caliber rounds and 25mm Depleted Uranium rounds from Bradley fighting vehicles. The government is greater than you people.

6. Most people don't have pitchforks and torches
They have ipods and SUVs. I guess you could wave an ipod at someone but it wouldn't be very threatening. You couldn't wave an SUV but I guess you could set fire to it. But that would make it harder to drive to Washington, since most people don't live within marching distance.

If only more credit card companies offered pitchforks and torches as sign-up bonuses. Then we would have everything we needed for the big march.

Unless you were speaking figuratively, in which case please disregard.

And thank you for not taking offense at my having a little fun with your thread. :)

My honey and I are Rumpole fans too - it was he who suggested the ID.

7. When enough people are hungry
People will not risk their personal security (roof, food, clothing) for abstract things like the law. When 50 percent of the populace goes hungry now and again, then they will ... 35 percent to choose between food and housing last year so it could be soon.

8. When they are starving in mass numbers which won't happen.
The powers in charge may have finally figured out how to keep just enough available to stop it from getting that bad. Rather then let them eat cake, they throw out just enough crumbs to be interested in when the next batch of crumbs will get there.

10. Have we Americans become so complacent
That nothing will warrant anything beyond letters to the editor and water cooler grumbling?

Ten short years ago no presidential stone remained unturned to hold the executive accountable for his every action. That seems so passe' in this "post 9/11 world" that the republicans have fashioned for themselves.

Every lie, every illegal and constitution deleting move made by this administration is excused by a release beginning with "The president can do this during war" Or "technically speaking, he didn't lie".

When will this admin reach a critical mass that implodes upon itself?
The new poll today reveals a 36% approval rating. Public support seems unrelated to the self serving Pollyanna blustering coming from this White House.

I've never seen anything like it, and I'm old.

11. Bushbots are still in lock-step.
When I brought up *'s latest "mis-step" last night with a Repub lady I know, her response was, first, that it meant nothing, he's able to declassify anything he wants, and second, to tell me about some story about a Christian who's rights were being violated. Basically changed the subject to the War on Christians.

I just had to walk away - these people freak me out.

12. I'm giving our government one more benefit of the doubt
in november. if we don't win congress then the election is fixed or if we do win and someone doesn't try to make these monsters accountable then our country is gone and as far as I'm concerned all bets are off. time to get to work.

popcorn, and tv, we don't give a shit about what happens to others, even right next door.
