DAMN!!! I thought this guy looked familiar!!!
A DUer* posted the Norman Rockwell painting entitled “Free Speech” in a thread earlier this morning. I remember that painting but thought it look surprising familiar this time. COMPARE THESE TWO PICTURES.

Harry Taylor, exercising his right to free speech in criticizing Bush

Norman Rockwell’s painting

Doesn’t Mr. Taylor and Rockwell’s subject look identical?

Is this uncanny or what?

________
*Sorry I can credit the original DUer as I wasn't able to find the post.

12. Yes.
The man in the original painting looked more like a young Abraham Lincoln. Someone stuck Mr. Taylor's face in it instead.

6. Perhaps there is a greater power at work here.
Perhaps that power that talks to George Bush is sending him another message.

The resemblance is...well...I keep expecting Rod Serling to appear at any moment.

11. It is photoshopped...
You'd have to compare it to the original to catch it, though.

Norman Rockwell would be branded a liberal subversive, if he were alive today.

17. Uncanny.
Edited on Fri Apr-07-06 10:45 AM by brook
One could speculate that Harry came from Central Casting. If so, one could further speculate that it was a Rovian plan to humanize *theUnhuman. It does strike me as unusual that Harry was 'encouraged' to speak his mind. Hmmmm?

Edited: Guess I should look before I leap. Though both Harry and the original Rockwell subject look like earnest, average guys.
