Bush admits Leak
Bush admits Leak

He's using the Brit Hume defense. It's ok to leak to defend himself. Kevin Drum says:

"Basically, Bush is saying that it's all right for him to selectively leak classified information whenever he feels it would help him politically."

I thought that was Judy Miller's job? Read today's Gaggle with Scotty.

1. It'll resonate with Bush's base.
Ken Starr did the same thing with secret grand jury information when he felt he was losing to Clinton's PR blitz.

Bush, well, in order to defend America, he has to defeat his domestic political opponents. He's going to do what it takes to defend America.

3. Now we see how it is...
Helping Him and helping Us are distinctly separate. Of all the horrible presidents we've ever had, have we ever had one like him who truly did not have the best interest of the country in mind? Lying to the country, lying the authorities, obstructing justice, endangering the intelligence community, all to benefit himself and a few big businesses.

He is not one of us. He doesn't even deserve to be considered an American.

4. more pResidential apologists' pretzel logic. . .
Edited on Fri Apr-07-06 11:41 AM by stellanoir
It's perfectly okay and totally excusable for him to commit a treasonist act in order to protect himself from the bogus casus belli being exposed for his illegal war that trashed our economy, global reputation, an entire country, destabilized the region and has killed countless innocents, and broken our military.

Okay now I understand this logic completely. Just as long as he's protected.

/sarcasm

8. Bush's actions were both illegal and treasonous.

I was being sarcastic when I posted the Nixon quote. :sarcasm:

Randi Rhodes has an audio clip of Nixon saying it. She always plays it when discussing how DimSon blew Valerie Plame's cover.

9. I knew you weren't serious but the MSM is.
CNN so far had talked about this as if it's perfectly legal and that it's only Democrats who feel it's important. I'm sure this will escalate though.

10. It sure is frustrating when the MSM leads the public to believe lies.
Most people simply are not paying attention and will believe any crap that the MSM feeds them.

Most Americans are simply not curious and have no idea what the real issues at hand are. It's too complicated for them. The 30% of the public who are Bush supporters are a lost cause. I'm writing them off completely.

12. Did You catch Scotty Promulgating the Meme of "Crass Politics"?
I actually missed that in the broadcast, but TPM has posted the transcript and if you go to it and scroll all way down near the end of the press conference, it's there..

So be looking for the freeptards to be using that as their meme on what the Democrats are doing in response to the outrageous illegality on everything these pigs have done in lying us into a war - from intelligence manipulation, to outing a CIA officer, and declassifying information - to domestic spying etc etc etc etc etc etc etc..

"Crass Politics"....
