Emily Miller and Michael Scanlan ~ remember Emily!

Remember Emily that made Colin shut up while he was talking to Tim Russet?
Isn't that the same Emily?

Two reporters are talking to Brian"On The Take" Lamb about their Wonderful DeLay.

I believe it was a caller that mentioned that EMILY was scorned by Scanlan and that's how Scanlan got in trouble.

Did I miss something?

1. Emily, who would not get out of the way, Miller!!!!!

I discussed her on this thread (it kinda sank, but some good links nonetheless): http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=2545251

...a week or so ago. I believe that she is the LINCHPIN of this entire embroglio, and that she has a bigger place in history than we presently realize. She's a subject for a film in the future, I believe!!!

4. Yes - that was a good post
I wonder who exactly hired her to be Colin Powell's media person. Likely someone who wanted to keep him on message.

5. Probably Bolton, who worked in State at the time, and was friend
to ANOTHER woman named Miller...and even visited her in JAIL...

When Condi got to State, she knew enough to ensure that Bolton's snivelling, quisling ass was "promoted" as far away from her as possible. While NSA advisor, she no doubt saw EXACTLY the style of duplicitous behavior he engaged in, and wanted to be sure that she wouldn't get a royal behind-the-scenes screwing from that mustachioed butthead.

3. Let's Send HER Roses
Had Scanlon not let his wicket do his thinking, the Abramoff/DeLay machine would probably still be going full tilt on K Street, DeLay would still be reich marshall of the House Repugnicans and millions in laundered funds would be circulating into Repugnican campaign coffers. Reports are this lady made the initial contact with DC prosecutors that brought Scanlon onto the radars from being a minor player in the Indian Casino scandal and from there start prying open the Abramoff/DeLay machine.

I remember that funny faux pas...Powell was at a summit in Jordan and Emily sorta kinda knocked the camera during some rare tough questioning by Timmeh...who thought he'd lost Powell...all of a sudden we see a potted palm with Powell's voice coming from somewhere and Emily yelling in the background.

It'd be fun if that video is still lurking out there...it was a hillarious moment...and at the time one of the few times this regime seemed to do something stupid.

Wanna bet Emily is "on leave" these days. My suggestion to her is to travel by train.

6. She isn't a very nice person
So I don't think the roses are a very hot idea. However, her short-tempered behavior during the Powell MTP standup had something to do with the fact that Scanlon had unceremoniously dumped her for the 24 year old waitress-manicurist (he later married the child) just before that trip took place.

A sample of Emily's style:

...Boucher investigated reporters' complaints about Miller's conduct during a pool-camera shoot. "There were one or two places where she was too aggressive," he acknowledged. "We all make mistakes sometimes."

In 2001 Miller was working as press secretary to then-Majority Whip Tom DeLay when she lashed into Post Magazine writer Peter Perl while he was doing a profile of her boss, screaming: "You lied! . . . You betrayed him! You twisted his words! . . . We don't know you. You don't exist. . . . You are dead to us." A DeLay spokesman told us yesterday, "Tom thinks Emily did a fine job for him."

She certainly approaches her duties with the enthusiasm and language skills of a Soprano underboss, but those tactics are a little sharp-elbowed for the diplomatic set!

7. Look at the picture MADem posted
It looks like Emily is in the beginning stages of flipping someone off. I agree, no roses for Emily. A mutant catus maybe but no roses.
