I know it was you, Fredo!
Edited on Fri Apr-07-06 04:23 PM by Neil Lisst
Folks, you know it as well as I do.

Three years ago, when Bush was talking about the leak and he said words to the effect "we'll probably never know who leaked it, you know how Washington is," you knew HE KNEW. You knew he did it. You saw him smirk, that self-satisfied, I can do whatever I want, smirk.

We knew then Bush already knew who the leakers were, already planned to sit on it, and to hide the information. What Bush and Rove never imagined was that a judge would force journalists to reveal their sources.

I know it was you, Fredo!

1. So true. So true.
Searches of old DU threads will show that more than a few of us knew it was him all along.

P.S. Love the Fredo reference!

2. Interesting how real life and '24' are dovetailing together
Turns out that on '24', spineless President Logan was behind the terrorist attacks all along, trying to blame it on other people so he could solidify his power.

My, my, my - how TV mirrors reality ;)

AMC ran I and II back-to-back and I couldn't stop watching. They showed III the next night and I went to sleep ...

12. GIII had some scenes worthy of parodying, and little more
The killing of Joey Zaza was a good scene.

The attack of all the old bosses in Vegas, not so much.

16. "Joey ......(bang bang bang) Zaza!"
For some reason, I like III as much as the other two. I know it's inferior and played out but I can't help it. "They pull me back in!!!"

17. it's the bad acting of the director's daughter that gives it that ...
... as the French might say - "I don't know what!"

OMG! She was sooo bad. Even Andy Garcia couldn't sell that love scene.

I don't think she would have been right, either, though ...

22. I never heard that. Sopia (sp?) is a wonderful director, though.
I loved her LOST IN TRANSLATION, the kind of textured, interesting film I watch over and over.

4. I was just talking about that this afternoon.
He said that in all probability the leaker would not be identified ... because (to the news media) "you guys are good at protecting your sources." So, in the first place, he must have been crapping his pants when Fitzgerald got Miller and Cooper to testify.

Yeah, this delusional doofus is living in Runneymede ... in a pre-1215 world. Maybe we should see if he would sign the Magna Carta?

13. But what to do about it?
It seems that the "strategy" of the WH is to stonewall while basically giving us all the finger.
They send out the sleezeball meister/consigliore Gonzales today to let us all know that they will do whatever the hell they want to.
The only hope is to throw the repukes out and hope that either:
1) The dems suddenly lurch back to life.
2) Another party is born.

15. All they had to do was declassify and have a press conference.
Instead, they chose to play innocent and leak the info before declassifying it to try and discredit Wilson. I hope they all go to prison.

18. even if one wanted to believe they could explain the WHY
they can never explain why they lied about it for three years

I'm betting this is not the story Fitz heard from Bush and Cheney.
