Why is gas going up again? Anybody know?

A few weeks ago, less than $2.00 (slightly). THis morning I paid $2.12, about the best price going for the 87 octane. Upstate SC.

and Oil companies need to top last quarters income.

Woke up the next morning to find 2.48 prices as I traveled North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio all 2.49
I was baffled but it hit me in the pocket book.

'round my area we were looking at $3.20 before people cut back on gas consumption enough to make it "hurt".

Now the cartel has enough info to be able to pump the consumers in a range just under what will cause that same backlash.

After Katrina,they were sending the US about 2 million barrels per day of crude and 800,000 barrels of 'refined product' (gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel) from their strategic reserves, but that has ended, and we are far from recovering the lost Gulf production and refining capacity.

Or, Exxon is just gouging us. One or the other..

The economy is great. We are rolling in $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ so let the oil companies have some of it.

You see, in the summer its high because we have plenty of oil but no refining capacity - because those filty liberals won't let one be built anywhere on earth, but in the winter there's plenty of refining capacity but there's no oil because those filty liberals won't allow any drilling where the oil is.

Never mind never ending increases in oil company profitability, never mind that we - and I repeat - we have blown up the oil fields of the country with the worlds second largest reserves.

Is it any suprise that the price of oil goes up on a day when 150 Iraqi people are killed in their own streets? When a civil war is in progress, and make no mistake, one is in progress in Iraq, dead in the middle of and invasion and all that right on top of all the oil in the world something is bound to happen to price.

the retailers and credit card companies weren't making money in December when the gas prices were high, so they falsely lowered them until everyone spent their money on Christmas stuff.
Now that is over...prices will go back up, up and away....

Christmas (Holiday,HA!) shop. Then they immediately went back to saying heating oil was sending the price way back up. Yeah, right.

Came close to disrupting wells. At least that's what someone told me.

They lowered the prices while they were there and now it's gone up about .40 since then. I think it's payback.
