It appears also that the center-left has captured the Italian Senate as well as the lower house of parliament in this election -- the first to use proportional representation in 13 years

i can't yell, "victory", until all the votes are counted, certified, and the winner of an election declared the victor...i am keeping my fingers crossed for the ousting of "belusca", as the italians are fond of calling him.

All these news stories are based on exit polls. If I remember from 2004, those can turn out to be 180 degrees from the final 'tally'.
