It´s not about which politicains received donations from Abramoff, but how a crook like Abramoff ended up with so much power.

According to Providence Journal-Bulletin columnist Froma Harrop:

The K Street Project was a Republican plan to get the lobbyists to work for the party, especially its more influential members. (Lobbying firms congregate around K street.) The message to business was elegantly simple: If you want to get anything done in Washington, you have to hire Republican loyalists and fill GOP campaign coffers.

Sen. Santorum actually summoned lobbyists to Capitol Hill and helped pick people for the top jobs at their trade associations.

"Pay to play" is not a nice kind of government, but the Republican leaders established it in the open and without blushing.

Abramoff was not the exception, he was the way the Republicans let loose corruption on America´s citizens and businesses.

1. I will be completely shocked if the K-Street project gets ANY play
on the corporate news.

That brings the whole thing completely together and shows that this is/was a Republican money laundering operation from the word go.

2. Absolutely
and I keep waiting for some exposes or someone from the left or right mentioning it for what it is. That's not likely to happen, especially now with the Alito hearings. The right today made damned certain that Roe be in the forefront. Graham basically said the people on the right are the mainstream...but that can't be so 'cause that'd mean they're all okay with the K Street Project, which I'm sure they're not. The rhetoric of the Alito hearings will further distract from K Street and I hope I'm wrong.
