Who else is staying up late to follow the CA-50 special election results?
Well, ok, I'm also writing a paper that's due tomorrow...but, regardless! Come on, all you election junkies, fess up!

1. I'm Just Up The Road In O.C.
I'll be up a couple more hours. I figured there would be something by now, but I guess the results haven't changed since the polls closed.

4. Yeah, what gives with that?
I guess we got spoiled here in Illinois, where the Cegelis/Duckworth results updated with new results every five minutes.

2. I'm here, and I'm in Ga. I really want to see Busby get the required
50% on the first vote. Somehow, I'd bet there are a lot of people who just won't bother to vote in a runoff.

5. I'm interested but getting tired
Worked all day ... getting really tired now though. Might have to call it a night soon and check back in the morning.

I would have thought they would have returns by now.

7. Fresh results up now!
Sadly, they haven't improved Busby's standing anyway.

12. A poster in Politics said it was all paper and pen ballots today,
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 12:38 AM by American liberal
which could explain the slow returns.

I am officially retiring for the evening. I hope to wake to miraculous news that Rep. Busby won 50% + 1 (is that 1% or 1 vote?) and will avoid a runoff in June.

Go Francine!

8. Woohoo! Francine at 42.19%!
She only needs 50%, right?

Mind you, it's only 7.4% of the vote. :(

10. 50% will be very difficult, to say the least
Check out www.swingstateproject.com, where they have calculated with each percent of turnout, how much Busby would have to win to get 50%.

11. Well it is considered a "red" district
So, we should be thankful she's doing so well so far.

9. I'm 2 bed - worked the polls 2day
had 2 B there from 6A-8P - I'm beat - we had an election 2 fill the campbell State Senate seat in OC 2day - we had THIRTY voters out of 2500 in the precinct. If San Diego is like OC since it was one issue, it was a pure paper & pen ballot. It might take longer 2 count.
