June 8, 2003; Saddam's trucks were for balloons, not germs
Tony Blair faces a fresh crisis over Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction, as evidence emerges that two vehicles that he has repeatedly claimed to be Iraqi mobile biological warfare production units are nothing of the sort.

The claim, however, that the two vehicles are mobile germ labs has been repeated frequently by both Blair and President George Bush in recent days in support of claims that they prove the existence of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.

Iraqi mobile labs nothing to do with germ warfare; June 15, 2003

Sorry US "media", but some of us in the USA (and everyone else in the rest of the entire world) knew this fact & bush's lie a very long time ago.

1. I remember when the shrub was in Poland trying to get troops he spread
this lie. For well over a year after it was debunked, and for all I know even now, the CIA had pics of these balloon labs at their site. What makes it even more freaking amazing is that those trucks were sold to Iraq by a UK company!

7. Marconi Command & Control, British, sold the artillery weather balloon
trucks to Iraq.

2. I asked this question earlier in an earlier thread
When the story broke today, I asked if these were the same trailers that Dr. David Kelly examined and determined to be weather balloons. If so, then this fact has been known internationally for nearly three years and I'm absolutely stunned that it's only just being reported here.

Nobody replied, so I'm glad I came across your post.

9. Yes; Dr. David Kay.
As did MI6 and several US agencies; not for germs of any sort.

bush's hand-picked weapons inspector Dr. David Kay agreed; artillery weather balloons, not germs.

(Dr. Kelly "committed suicide" in the UK after his comments that bLiar and bush were lying were made public by the bLiar regime.)

3. Blair and Bush are sociopathic twins
I read there's a strong movement to impeach Blair, too. Best thing in the world to send both of them to Gitmo for their crimes against humanity.

6. Its a bit easier to get rid of...
...a British Prime Minister than a US President. All you have to do is get a majority of the House of Commons to pass a vote of no confidence in the government and they have to call a General Election. Then the nation can vote him out. Often, if it's likely that such a vote will be lost, the PMs own party will make him step down. That way, the party gets to stay in power until the next election, at least.

The problem at the moment is that Labour have an overall majority in the House of Commons, so a significant number of them would have to be convinced to vote against the government.

8. Yes, but the Labour Party was hijacked similar to the way our Dem
party was hijacked by moderates and political strategists.

Labor used to be far left and represent the interests of the people. Imagine that!

A Swede I know calls Blair "Tory Blair." Imagine that is quite common.

11. Absolutely
In the past 15 years, the Labour party has moved from far left to, arguably, center right. One of the reasons the Conservative (Tory) party has been having such a bad time in recent years is because Labour have stolen all their policies.

Funnily enough, I have a Swedish friend who lives in London and calls him 'Tony B-Liar'.

12. That's funny. Labour becoming the Tory Party
Funny in an ironic and sad meaning.

BTW, I was in Seattle last week and had a great time roaming around your fair city.

I stayed in the Queen Anne neighborhood and went to Easy Street Records (stayed hours and bought 8 CDs. Had some great hard to find stuff) and the coolest used bookstore across the street.

Appreciated seeing all the greenery. Our leaves might be popping out just today.:hi:

13. Very sad
Its left the Liberal Democrats as the only vaguely leftish party (aside from lunatic fringe parties that get votes in the single digits).

I've only been in Seattle for a couple of months, but I share your enjoyment of the Queen Anne neighborhood. I'm currently in "find a job" mode, so I don't know if Seattle will be my final destination, but I hope so. It's a nice town.

4. But, but, but the balloons could be used to carry biological weapons ...
um, yeah, that's it.

10. Ummmm...Not only that
But they could carry liberal, gay, arab, terrorists that are trying to get married into the United States.
They would land in Vermont and get a Civil Union. Then they'd spread their insidious "gayness" throughout the US.

5. The question is why do such a rerun? If they want to recapitulate
all Bush/Cheney's lies it doesn't make sense to do it one at a time.

I don't understand the purpose.
