DU this poll (aid to university if it bans gay students)

This was originally posted in GLBT by Stevietheman, but if the poll is going to be effectively DUed, it needs to be in GD.

Should the Baptist University of the Cumberlands receive state aid if it’s going to ban gay students?

http://forums.kentucky.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=kr-kentgennews&msg=1403.1&ctx=1

Currently, its No - 56%, Yes - 43%, Uncertain - 1%

1. If they have such a policy in writing
the aid should be halted retroactively to the date the policy went into effect. "Christian Conservatives" are the number one domestic enemy of the constitution in America today. Fuck the state aid. Take it away from them now.

7. Couldn't have said it better.
No true Christian would approve of shunning someone based on lifestyle. Like you said, bosshog, gays are protected by the Constitution & I like the thought of the university being penalized retroactively.

9. "Gays are protected by the constitution"
That's why "christians" want to replace it. The constitution also protects minorities and non-christians and atheists. An incredibly evil document to those who hate in the name of Jesus Christ. And I find ironic the fact that "christians" in America have it better than "christians" anywhere else on the planet and yet they whine of persecution. A word to the wise to the persecuted, don't fuck with my constitution.

11. Anyone care to bet against: 90% of the 'yes' votes are local....
... and the "no"'s from DUers around the country/world.

What a bunch of bigots. Sigh.

16. Not necessarily, I'm in Kentucky and I voted no.
There aren't as many mindless bigots here as some would like you to think.

If you haven't noticed, we have problems all over the fucking country right now.

20. Wah. Even your initial comment didn't disagree with what I said rofl.
I'm from Vicksburg MS btw, so don't bother trying to pull any "you don't know what you're talking about crap" while trying to defend The Great Southern Man's Lie: that the rest of the country is every bit as bad about bigotry as the south.

21. I'm actually not from here originally, I'm from Michigan
Which means I probably look at things even more skeptically than a born and bred southerner. One thing I've learned, though, is that stereotypes are just that - stereotypes. There are redneck bigots everywhere, and there are decent people everywhere. And it doesn't do anyone any favors to region bash.

24. What you said was that 90% of locals would surely vote yes
And I said I disagree with that assessment - that 90% of Kentuckians are bigots.

25. False. I said NEITHER of those things.
That's just putting words in my mouth.

At least now I understand your inability to disagree with me - you can't even say what I said - lol

27. Hey! Ky was the first state in the South
...to repeal their sodomy statute in the late 80s. Tell that to enlightened Massachusetts which still had it in the 90s.
