Kelly Arena just did her version of the transcripts, getting to act out all parts. Literally, not reading, but ACTING. Yelling, emoting, pouring it all out.

WHY DO WE HAVE TO LISTEN TO A TWO-BIT LO-RENT CABLE NEWS ANCHOR DOING DINNER-THEATER? Why can't we hear real tapes? Why can't we hear the tape of the WTC planes? The Pentagon plane? Who is this show for, anyway? Who is buying this shit?

I know, I know, it sounds offensive to a lot of folks - but they've done it before, and they'll do it again.

The only people who will hear the tapes are those in the courtroom.

Someone who works in this field posted earlier that they are not allowed to release them (FCC or something) that they could only release the transcripts.

Have we all forgotten everything?

They used to release these tapes all the time! Doesn't anyone remember the tape from before 9/11, the plane which crashed wherein the pilot's last words were "Allah is Great" or somesuch? Am I the only one who remembers that these tapes used to be released all the time?

ABC News got burned a few years back by playing the CVR recordings of American Airlines flight 965 (Boeing 757) that crashed in the mountains near Cali, Colombia in December 1995. The Colombian government, pissed by criticism from the US government, gave the CVR product to ABC News. ABC News, unwisely, aired the recordings of the final minutes of AA 965. It has to be a transcript. Federal law protects all CVR recordings from public disclosure.

but the audio tapes from Flight 93 were released for only the 9/11 families to hear, but they were told they could not repeat what they heard.

This was done in April 2002.

they would not release the tapes, and some objected because they feared that the media would play them over and over and over, and it would be too painful for them to keep hearing it..

While I agree with them, they ARE a part of a public trial..

Was driving when I heard that they released the tapes and the jury was listening and I thought well finally, we'll put to est some of the theories. Now I learn it's only transcript.

Transcripts. I don't buy it. There are much better scenarios going around.

It is just amazing to me that the lowliest of the military get the blame for policies coming from the top and that possibly, mere passenger are made into heroes. And that we HAVE NO PROOF that what they are sying is the truth, after all these years.

you don't have any more than reporters reading their notes. I don't think they "released" the tapes to the public...only to the court for this trial.

it is to talk about this administration and all the laws they have broken... They are redirecting the public's attention back to 9-11 to draw support for The War On Terra... I hope they don't fall for it...
