Anti-Gays To Protest At Soldier's Funeral- Wacko Alert-Bizzare

Evansville police and Vanderburgh County officials are urging veterans to stay out of confrontations with anti-gay protesters who plan to attend Tuesday's funeral of an Indiana soldier killed in Iraq.

Members of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, plan to protest at the funeral of Private Jonathan R. Pfender, who was killed December 30th in Iraq.

Hundreds of area veterans say they will do what they can to shield family from the protest. Church members say American soldiers are being killed in Iraq as vengeance from God for protecting a country that harbors gays.

Police and officials met Sunday with about 100 veterans and urged restraint.

Evansville police Sgt. Chris Pugh says about 12 to 20 protesters were expected. He said the group will be restricted to public sidewalks and protesters won't be allowed to enter areas where services are being held.

Several dozen veterans showed up for the visitation Monday...and are expected in full force at Tuesday's funeral to counteract any protesters. Talsma says the veterans will not incite anything. Their stance is they're there just to support the family. He says he's glad that they're here to support the family.

I'm waiting for him to die so I can dance on his grave -- and at the moment he's the ONLY person in the world I can say that about.

4. Yup, the Phelps family, a bunch of anti-gay wackos...
They're totally nuts.

They believe that God is punishing the US for supporting gay rights by killing soldiers in Iraq.

Where did they get this idea? Like I said, they're all totally F*#@ed up. Get this, probably 5-7 of the protesters will be under 13 years of age. That's pretty sick huh?

5. Some states are trying to pass laws
To make protesting at funerals a crime. I know Iowa is one of them, not sure of the others.

13. The veterans need to hold up large sheets
of plywood or something to keep Phelp's Phuckups out of the mourners' view.

14. Put Phelps and clan in one of those cages - Free Speech zones,
isn't that what they called them at the conventions and anytime Shrub took a drive anywhere?

Let the veterans stand outside of the cages, for as long as they care to. Fucked up Fred gets to exercise his 1st Amendment, the family wouldn't be bothered in their time of grief - and many Americans would get a chance to see just what the radical freaks who have hijacked God have in mind for the future of the United States of Theocracy.
