Show Me The Money!! Shut Up and Show Me The Money!!
So, you think Abramoff "gave money to Democrats?" Show Me The Money!!

Here are three different, reputable websites where you can find both PAC and individual campaign contibutions and payments for services.

The Federal Election Commission at http://www.fec.gov/finance/disclosure/disclosure_data_search.shtml
OpenSecrets.org at http://www.opensecrets.org/
Capital Eye at http://www.capitaleye.org/abramoff.asp

Specifically, show how much, when, from whom, and to whom a contribution or payment was made. If Abramoff was not the donor, PROVE he was involved. Otherwise, shut up.

I'm getting a bit impatient with the rumor-mongering on DU - rumors planted to spin the corruption.

So ... Shut Up and Show Me The Money!!

3. Well....the MONEY is flowing like BLOOD from DC all OVER THE WORLD
Hey! You can't get more Blood or Money than has come out of this culmination of Greed & Corruption.........We've NEVER SEEN THE LIKES of this in our HISTORY!

Let's think about a "Parliamentary Government!" and.....yeah...I know...Tony Blair is still there and he's probably as corrupt as the CHIMP...but AT LEAST there's an opportunity for MORE Parties to GET INVOLVED ...AND BE VOCAL ABOUT THE CRAP THROWN THEIR WAY!

Let's look at the Harry Potter books...isn't it all about "working around" a system?

It's as if an "artery" has been severed....but the M$M perfers to couch it all in "gentle-manley" terms.

So, we keep our :tinfoilhat:'" 's in place and hope for a better tommorrow.

as a reader of "TUDOR ENGLAND HISTORY" .........I realize we are living through another "REFORMATION." SO.......many "heads and bodies will be hung on scaffolds."

It isn't going to be "pretty." Not by a long shot!

You are absolutely right. This is not a case of general corruption. It is a case with very specific targets of corruption. It is a republican scandal, 100%, through and through.

18. Nope. Still waiting. The documentation would exist if it were true.
I've explored the 'expenses' of various PACs (a handy way to funnel money) and the various databases and have yet to see any direct payment or fund contribution.

There's a LOT of noise but not one rumor or allegation has yet been specific enough to tie to even one of the abundant FEC filings and disclosures that frame Abramoff's dealings.

It's funny. I'm an independent. I really eschew partisanship. I adhere to the issues and those whose track record demonstrates support for the issues I regard as important. As such, I couldn't give a rat's ass whether it's a Democrat or Republican that's shown to be corrupt. Corrupt is corrupt. What I really abhor is the half-assed claims and outright fabrications.

I voted for Nixon. As such, I felt I was justified in being even more batshit about his corruption than those who opposed him. After all, I was cheated and my vote obtained fraudulently! I just cannot comprehend those who voted for the Demon Spawn of Poppy Puke not being even more outraged than those who opposed him. It was THEIR VOTE that was stolen.

20. right there with you
independent too. i have no vested interest in the dem party. any and all corrupt can go to jail. i dont like the games of the last handful of years though, of pinning what the repugs do on the dems, when clearly the dems have done the opposite. since rove got in there i have watched time and again, their behavior projected onto the dems, and dems on this board swallow it hook line and sinker

nixon on the other hand, i was too young. i watched my mom obsess on that trial though. i almost got suckered in by reagan, too young to vote first term, and second term had figured it out

30. The myth one wants to believe is easier to take than the fact one doesn't.
About forty years ago, I learned one of the most important lessons about people (including me): "People will believe what we want to believe!"

I've never seen this lesson contradicted. Never.
