show them this:

www.christianradio.com lists almost 2500 stations searchable by state.

christian schools K-12 (not counting the christian boarding schools)

http://dir.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/Religion_and_Spirituality/Faiths_and_Practices/Christianity/Education/K_12/By_Region/

christian colleges and universities divided by domination:

christian television:

http://dir.yahoo.com/Entertainment/Television_Shows/Society_and_Culture/Religion/Christianity/

christian newspapers:

http://dir.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/Religion_and_Spirituality/Faiths_and_Practices/Christianity/News_and_Media/Newspapers/

and for those looking for christian persecution:

christianity in sports:

http://dir.yahoo.com/Recreation/Sports/Cultures_and_Groups/Christian/

christian camps:

http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Outdoors/Camping/Family_and_Children_s_Camps/Christian_Camps/

and then you have all these denominations:

http://dir.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/Religion_and_Spirituality/Faiths_and_Practices/Christianity/Denominations_and_Sects/

On yahoo, there are 14,563 churches in the US

http://dir.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/Religion_and_Spirituality/Faiths_and_Practices/Christianity/By_Region/

That's not counting all the little churches yet to catch up with the 20th century or that aren't in the search engines in order to be found.

And if I missed anything:

edited for clarification

3. The Treaty of Tripoli
"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

7. I am still amazed over the Puritan nature of our country....
it just goggles my mind...(mmmm...mind goggling)

A large section of us are white, uptight, and in church every night.

9. My partner's friends from Switzerland visited us
a few years ago. A young woman her mother and aunt. They had never been to the states before. The things that amazed them were:

1. The size of the rental car they had (it was a standard, regular Taurus I think)The couldn't get over how big it was.

2. The size of our house. (Then we lived in a little cookie-cutter 2 bedroom 2 bath, in a brand new development). They thought it was HUGE.

And

3. How many churches there were. We lived in Greensboro at the time. Drove them around the city for a while and they were ASTONISHED at the number of churches. They were almost freaked out about it.
