People whose vehicles have crappy mileage need not complain about the price of gas. They made their bed, and have to lie in it.

16. Hey, our household has ONE vehicle a JeepLiberty
yes it has 4 WD because we need it in the winter. It has the space we need to haul things and just because I am a woman, I REFUSE TO DRIVE A STATION WAGON OR MINI-VAN.

I am the only one that drives 98% of the time and I LIKE MY JEEP

My vehicle was purchased in January 1998.

I first learned of Peak Oil in 2000.

35. Yeah, we LOVE ours -
lots of mining trails in the backcountry around here, and you just can't take a standard SUV on them. Especially during breakup. Or in deep snow.

When we go hunting, we don't tear up the tundra on an ATV - we take the Jeep out on a mining road, or logging road, park and walk. It starts at 50 below, and warms up inside of 20 minutes (the heater is so good, it'll run you out at 20 below). Gas mileage isn't great, but it's good, and a 4WD is almost a necessity here, if you're going to live/work/play out of town in winter (or, again, during breakup).

It's a Jeep thing! :hi:

17. ambivalent-- I don't like paying more, but if high prices encourage...
...conservation that's a good thing. PERSONALLY I have alternatives and really need only drive my car a couple of days a week, so I view everything more than that-- including using it to commute-- as the price I'm willing to pay for the extra convenience, until it simply prices me out of using my car more than absolutely necessary. If this rain ever stops I'll be bicycling more than driving anyway.

too bad, then, about gas being up to $2.60 here in Rapid City, SD. It's even less in some other parts of the state. Course, it wasn't that long ago that gas above $2.00 was considered excessive. SIGH.
