Why should the taxpayers be strapped with paying for their internment?

5. Deport 'em all, and let God sort 'em out
If you can't trace your ancestry back to 1,000 years on this continent, then get the hell out, I say.

Waitaminute... most Mexicans are mestizo (mixed Spanish and Indian ancestry)... that means all us honkies gotta split.

Shit, better start packing...

9. Does that mean
my husband and kids can stay here and I can't? By the way, you do know that the Spanish didn't treat the Indians any better than than the Europeans who came to this country don't you? Does that mean that the Mexicans with European or Spanish blood have to get out of Mexico also, or for that matter, all of Central and South America?

13. the problem is Mexico exporting their poverty to make the rich richer..
we are all worried about the wrong end of the problem.. Mexico has to be dealt with first..

the UN has declared the Mexican Government *Morally Bankrupt and Democratically Irretrevable..*

if we wanted to start a Democracy somewhere we should have invaded Mexico instead of Iraq.. the Mexicans dont have guns.. and they need democracy, equitable economy.. round up the 30 families that corrupt the government, send them to trial and remove them from the food chain.. then you can start to get something done over here. but then the Mexicans would have to build a fence to keep the poor Americans from entering illegally seeking freedom and high paying jobs

15. Our country is rapidly heading in the same direction as Mexico
if not worse. By the way "the Mexicans dont have guns"......I know for a fact that some of them do. Several months ago my son-in-laws brother was shot and killed in his hometown in Mexico. Shame, he was only 23. I don't know their gun-laws, but I'll bet they do have guns.

17. No, seriously it was a joke
It seems that the immigration debate brings out the worst nativist elements on both sides of the aisle. And yes, I'm quite aware of how the Spaniards treated the native populations of the Americas.

In fact, if we want a truly "global" and equitable economy, labor should be as mobile as capital. Capital has no problem crossing borders, and going where the labor is cheapest. If we want real "free trade", labor should enjoy the same rights as capital.

But, of course, the governments of most countries are controlled by capital, and not by labor.

6. If they're violent criminals
I prefer they stay in prison rather than set them free, which would enable them to walk across the border to commit more crimes.

8. The problem with this is that the countries that they came from
are giving them money to leave their countries.....they want them to leave because of their criminal backgrounds...

If we keep them in jail for committing crimes thats less crime they will commit in the public.....

What we should do is start charging the countries that they come from for their room and board....then the countries will figure out that sending them here is not a good solution....

10. No...not unless..
Mexico would agree to let them serve out their terms in Mexico's jails. Otherwise, it would be like turning them loose, because they would be back over the border in no time.

11. The only reason the Bush Administration brought up immigration....
Is because they're dropping like dominoes, and elections are coming up. They desperately need a new issue, now that their old issues are failing them. I think this issue might backfire on them rather nicely.

Why should they get an early get out of jail free card, when a US citizen has to serve the whole sentence?

Ever see "Running Man"?

Just put those explosive neck collars on them and set-up trip/activation devices at the border.
Problem solved. :smoke:

And if the ones in jail are the only ones y'all will let us do, then so be it!

That's what I hear when I read your question - mebbe it's a mistake, but it's what I hear nonetheless.

25. I shouldn't have to do this but....
incriminate: to charge with or show evidence or proof of involvement in a crime or fault.

By accusing the OP of being racist when there was nothing there to support that accusation, you showed proof of your fault of reading what you wanted to read.

Melodrama? You have a serious problem with projection, friend.

24. Why would their home countries take them back?
There are tens of thousands of Chinese illegals sitting in camps right now because China refuses to take them back. It works out great for them- they get rid of dissidents and we pick up the tab for prisons.

In order to deport them, we'd have to find a country willing to take them. And since no one will, I guess we're stuck with them. Unless you want to just set them all free at the border. We'll see how well that works.
