3. Tony Snow. And, as mentioned on Olberman, they should
give him back-pay.

13. Handle the job of speaking strictly in talking points?
Mischaracterizing opposition arguments? Spinning your points so that they reach only the basic levels of the thought process, but actually avoid the real issues?

Tony Snow, of Fox News??? I think he has *lots* of experience.

5. I doubt she'd take the job. Karen is used to being on the inside
of every loop, and a WH Press Sec. most often is only given limited info. Beyond that, it's asking for a daily grueling, on camera, and it is becoming a grueling, at least by a few in the Press.

I know Snow was the popular name being thrown around, but I didn't think he'd take it either.

I think they'll find some current lackey who's already in the WH somewhere, and promise to make them a TV Star!

6. Any Ideas Who?
I just remember how they made her the spokesman in a heavy situation... If he needs her, you don't think she would do it???

12. I doubt it. I think Karen is quite capable of convincing Shrub
that she's needed a lot more somewhere other than Press Sec.

As far as WHO? I don't really know any of the background lackeys there. I never heard of Scotty when he first appeared, nor of any of Clinton's Press Secs.

This particular point in time, that job could prove much more difficult than in the past, except for when Clinton's impeachment was occurring. It seems that sometime relatively soon, the Fitz indictments are going to be issued, and Abramoff isn't going to get better for a LONG TIME! The new Press Sec is going to have to deal with all of that, PLUS all the future Shrub screwups we don't know about yet! I don't think any sane person would take it!

11. It's Reality TV show time - American Scapegoat!
Edited on Thu Apr-20-06 12:01 PM by muriel_volestrangler
Have you ever dreamed of fame? Does the thought of appearing on national TV each day with grown men clamoring to ask you questions give you a thrill? Want your latest pronouncements to be poured over on countless blogs?

This is Your Chance. We're now auditioning for the new series of American Scapegoat™. We know that, somewhere out there, there's an unknown who's just perfect for the job of stonewalling the nation's press. If you can talk to officials, and gullibly accept whatever they tell you as the truth, and then regurgitate it with a straight face, you're just what we're looking for!

The winner of the last series has had a roller coaster ride of fame, ridicule and shame that would terminally embarrass a normal man. But he had the Right-Wing Stuff™ - he left his brain at home each morning, just like a good administration foot soldier should. But now it's time for him to pass his crown on to you - if you're bland enough!

The exciting judges we have lined up, to see if you can get away with saying absolutely anything, include Ari Fleischer, the inaugural winner of American Scapegoat™; Sylvia Browne, the world famous con artist; and a mystery overseas judge. We can't name him yet, but we can say - he is nowhere! he is on the moon!
