is ended forever. It never was anything more than a hugely expensive folly -- with space flight as the ultimate phallic fantasy: "my erection can reach further than yours." That is all it was -- and think of the public transport system we could have built with all that squandered money: a public transport system that would have gotten us to work when the oil runs out and would have guaranteed we can feed ourselves, a public transport system that now will never be built precisely because the money that might have built it was thrown away and now there will never be such money available again.
