Congress selling out the internet
Google, Amazon, MoveOn. All these entities are fighting back as Congress tries to pass a law giving a few corporations the power to end the free and open Internet as we know it. Internet providers like AT&T and Verizon are lobbying Congress hard to gut Network Neutrality, the Internet's First Amendment. Net Neutrality prevents AT&T from choosing which websites open most easily for you based on which site pays AT&T more. Amazon.com doesn't have to outbid Barnes & Noble for the right to work more properly on your computer.

The free and open Internet is under seige-can you sign this petition letting your member of Congress know you support preserving Network Neutrality?

1. DONE! Folks, we don't want to turn into CHINA, do we?
We've GOT to do everything possible to stop this ... This is the most important freedom currently available to us (IMHO) and we must NOT relinquish it!

5. If there is one thing they cannot handle, it's accountability.
The internet is one of the few places where this might happen, so of course they have to do what they can to stop it, cowards!

7. Done & sending it on to friends/family.
My comments:

The consumers' rights are being gutted one step at a time in the name of corporate greed. Please don't allow internet providers to invade our rights by their unquenchable thirst for more profits. We consumers already pay big bucks for our internet service.

This is a prime example of why there should be lobbying reform. Those congresspeople who vote to end Network Neutrality are turning their backs on consumers for the sake of corporate greed.
